I am planning a trip to Osaka this Dec after we went Tokyo last year. Thanks to those who shared esp dnls_mummy.


Anyone can advise if I can find a ski resort nearby Osaka (less than 1.5hrs travelling if possible). What can we explore in Osaka?

We are still deciding if we should go Tokyo again but any idea if its better to take train or plane? How much roughly is the train ticket?

If you plan to go to Tokyo from Osaka, it is convenient to take the Shinkansen. You can price out the price of a single trip ticket on http://www.hyperdia.com
Alternatively, you can consider getting the all Japan rail pass if there are other places that you wish to go.
One the the places that you can consider going skiing is Nagano. There are ski resorts there. It is the sight of the former Winter Olympics. But it is more than 1.5 hrs from Osaka.

Is Nagano nearer from Tokyo or Osaka?? Any ski resort to recommend? We are planning to go same period like 8th Dec thus don't think they will snow yet but hoping they have man made snow as well?

Can I know if I arrive Haneda airport 1am in the morning, can I still get public transport to the city? I tried to google but it looks like the public transports are only available in the morning. Any economical way to get to the city? Thanks!

Is going 9d8n enough to Tokyo / Osaka / Kyoto ? ravelling with 3A and 2C. Do you think hotel can just look for a family room with 2 queen beds? The hotel won’t check right?

How do you all travel from Tokyo to Osaka? Go which station to take train ? How abt airport transfer, where u all book and if f&e how abt the tour, do u all go yourself or book local tour to bring u to some places?

You can take the Shinkansen fromTokyo to Osaka. The main station is Tokyo is Tokyo station. Use http://www.hyperdia.com to check the train schedule and cost. Just input your start and end point. You can always take the local trains to connect to the Shinkansen.

If you plan to do F&E, then you can go F&E all the way. http://www.japan-guide.com is a good resource. I have been to all these 3 places over 2 different trips. You can follow the links below to get an idea of what can be done and then go to japan guide for more info and plan something out for yourself.

Hotel rooms in Japan are small. I don't think you can find a room for 5. Advisable to book 2 rooms.

Hihi! planning 2 weeks trip for 2D 2C,from 1st week of nov -mid nov to :

tokyo disneyland & sea, cup noodle museum,hakone, mt fuji, Kyoto, Nara, osaka...

1)can anyone kindly plan/share itinerary with me?? anything interesting in kyoto, Nara for 8yr & 11 yr old kid?
2)2 weeks enough? if not, 1 week ard tokyo also ok..
3)any onsen to recommend?
4) I checked ANA, if we reach 1st Nov(wed) mrng ard 8.30am,fly back on 14th Nov(tue) 12.10am,
we have 13 full days,& 12 nights..enough to cover where i plan to go?
as we reach wED morning and it's after overnight flight, i think we should not plan anything for that day?
& if we go disneyland on thur & fri, i worried Fri may be crowded?? or not so bad??
or should we travel direct to osaka/kyoto after touch down??
3) any hotels with 2 queen beds?? or is it ok to book with 2 single beds? :evil:
or any hotel with 2 super single beds, ok for 2 A 2 C??are they strict on this??
4) any promo air tix coming? or usually around when may have? for ANA and JAL??

also hope to get other advice esp on hotels, transport to get around..& transport from airport to hotels..
& also on activities/where to go, if not it's very hard to book air tickets
