Just an summary for parents of EJC who did not attend the MTP yesterday and for parents of students the 3 IP schools.

Was at the Meet-the-parent session at EJC. Had also a tour of the school campus lead by the students. Thought that the school was well-equipped and new. Attached photos below of some of the facilities - student lounge, gym, library, study rooms and bicultural classrooms.

The MTP started with two JC1 students sharing their experiences in EJC, one was from ACSI and the other SCGS. Both reflected on the warm and friendly environment in EJC has and how everybody helped each other in college. The principal also spoke, introducing the staff and their quailifications. I do feel that the teachers are very experienced. In fact when I met with our DD Civic Tutors later on,. one had a Doctorate degree and was from Dunman High, the other has a 2nd Upper Honours and was from VJC. I also met an old classmate, who is now teaching in EJC, He has taught in RI/JC previously.

The principal also touch on the cutoff points and indicate that she had received feedbacks on the cutoff points of 9 - some were indicating that the cutoff point should be lower and others indicating that 9 was a very good COP since no JC had a 9 point COP when they started. In any case, Mrs Wong indicated the actual college mean and median COP was lower. She also shared that EJC was first runner up in the International Biomedical Challenge . She then highlighted on a few written commendation she has received from the public on the college's students helping others while out of college premises. šŸ˜„ Seems to me that the college does not only emphasize academic excellence !

The 2 VPs then touch on how the college will be using technology to enhance the students learning - how they have developed a teaching methodology based the teachers' experience at the various JCs ( Ri, HCI, NJC, VJC etc) . They also emphasize the importance of discipline and will how it will be strictly enforced in college.

The Dean and one of the Parent Support group also spoke. The session ended with a singing of the newly composed school anthem by a teacher and two students. I thought the anthem was beautifully written and was surprised that it was composed by the students themselves. Then we were brought to the various classes and got to meet the respective Civic Tutors.

Are these photos taken at current temporary premises occupied by EJC, at Mount Sinai (2017) ?

If yes, then Moe had indeed renovated Mount Sinai premises well -
            because
Rgps was the last school that temporarily occupied Mount Sinai location for two years in (2014 + 2015), before renovation was done To prepare to accommodate EJC students, to shift in.

            Back then, in (2014 + 2015 ) :
when Rgps was occupying Mount Sinai premises, the place was still very run-down.

At end of December 2015 :-
After Rgps shifted back to Hillcrest (Bukit timah) permanently, then Moe started renovation work at Mount Sinai, to prepare for EJC students to shift in (temporary occupancy), until their JC is built ready, at Marymount road.

Yes. these were taken with my iPhone camera when I was on the student guided tour of the school. MOE did actually promised the parents of the 3 IP school that they will renovate the well when they shifted the temporary campus to Sinai. šŸ˜„

I heard from another parent at the meeting that a \"well known\" architect firm designed the new EJC campus at Bishan Park. Anybody knows which firm is it ?

The Y4s (2016) from the 3 schools must have met frequently during the school holidays to prepare for the competition.
