My son is P6 this year, he is quite weak in his languages but he is good in math and science. He has bronze and silver for various math olympiad. Do you suggest that he DSA to NuSH? What if he can't cope with the languages in the school, will the school ask him to transfer to another school?

Just go for it , He will be happy once he being selected to NUSH. My Son have the same case, weak in English but good in both Math & science, but was selected thru DSA, He is happy with learning in NUSH .

Will there be any remedial class for those weak students? If you belong to the weaker lot, what help will the school render to the students? Any cases whereby the students ask to transfer? My son’s languages are in the B grade, so i am quite worry on this aspect.

There are some compulsory remedials if the teacher thinks its necessary. Private consultation can also be self arranged on the students end. The school will very unlikely ask any student to transfer due to bad language grades alone. Even in the case of really bad grades across all subjects, a repeat of the year might be suggested to improve grades and to learn the fundamentals again. Almost never will a school transfer be forced.

Yes. Can arrange 1:1 or small gp consultation in addition to compulsory remedials. Students can take initiative to approach teachers for additional consultation.

I would recommend a visit to the school during the open house to let your child have a look, talk to seniors, listen to the Principal's talk etc. The main thing is that the kid must be an independent learner and interested in the sciences and math. If after the open house the child is still keen, give it a go.
