Congratulations to EJC, on emerging 2nd Runners-up at the NUSPA Chancellor’s Challenge Shield 2017

EJC has no JC2 students to send to competitions. Its amazing how their JC1 students is getting great results against the JC2 students of the other JCs

because JC1s are the pioneers of EJC.

pioneers have an un-daunting, persevering spirit, they are the starters, get the engine moving.
Just like in Olympic games, they light the Olympic flame burning, they set the pace & direction for subsequent future generation of next batches, to follow suit

Just a tot, but did the other JCs send in their J1 or J2 students? Hwa Chong and NJC are both IPJCs, they may hv sent in their J1s too

JCs will generally send their JC2 students for conpetitions to have the highest chance of winning as they have a one year headstart over the JC1s in terms of knowledge aquisition, preparation and experience.

In EJC case, they have no choice but to send only JC1 students to such competitions

Agree.. Most JCs prefer to send JC2 students, or a mix of JC1 & JC2 students, for competitions.

Anyway, whether other JCs have sent in their JC1 (or JC2) students for the above competition is irrelevant. EJC's pioneer batch has done well (in various competitions) without the presence of & guidance from seniors. Their achievements are indeed remarkable.

Not true. HCI was the champions last year. The senior team got champions, while the junior team got 3rd placing. Last year's theme was on General Elections in Singapore. The HCI senior team gave an excellent 'political party debate' style presentation during the final round of the competition. I think that blew the judges' mind away. RJC didn't even get any prize. The HCI team this year seemed to be well trained by the seniors who won last year. Kudos to EJC for doing well this year, by putting up a tough fight against the other schools!

Well done to HCI for defending the senior title. Hi lowdewei, it would be great if you could let us know the first 3 teams for both the senior and junior divisions last year.

I got the information from the \"CCA Previews 2017: Raffles Economics and Current Affairs Society\".

As this review was published in 2017, I presumed that the awards won was for the previous year in 2016.

Well RJ may have won in previous years. But in 2016 for sure HCI won the championship title. The HCI team was very well versed in Singapore Politics and General Elections. RJC did not win any prize.

Do you have any links or references ? Just curious since it would be quite funny to publish in a 2017 CCA review of wins that may be years back.
