All About Primary Schools' Balloting History

this also applies to those who have registered in phase 2A2 and then withdraw to register elsewhere cannot get the seat should they fail in Phase 2C.
Yes, you have to cancel/withdraw and you won't be able to get the seat back if you fail in Phase 2C. You'll have to move on to your next preferred school in Phase 2C(S) and usually there won't be many seats left.Miracle13:
Hello parents...
It's going to be my first time doing the primary 1 registration...
I have 2 doubts.....if any kind parent can help me...
1) Can I say register for Phase 2B(2) then.....register for phase 2C for another school when registration opens?
2) Do I need to cancel my slot in phase 2B(2) then go for the ballot in phase 2C at another school?
Please advise....
Thanks. -

Hi
may i know what does the % mean? eg app 155% tur 84%
i understand the colour code but just don’t understand the %
TIA -

APP refers to the percentage of applicants against the available seats in each phase.Hi

TIA
For example: If there are 40 seats available in Phase 2B, it means there are 155% x 40 = 62 applicants for that particular phase. Unfortunately, the statistics won't tell us how many of those 62 applicants are going for balloting.
TUR is percentage of seats taken, calculated against the available seats in a particular school as a whole.
For example: If TUR = 84% at the end of Phase 2B and the school has 200 seats in total, it means 84% x 200 = 168 seats are taken, leaving 16% x 200 = 32 available seats for Phase 2C. -
Hi kiasu parents,
We will be applying for Primary 1 registration in 2020 for our 1st DD who was born in 2014. We also have 2nd DD who was born in 2015.
I am born & bred Singaporean whereas my husband is not a SC nor a SPR but the girls are SCs. We are currently staying in JB, Malaysia as my husband (non-Malaysian) has a company there.
We plan to buy a house within 1 km to CHIJ Toa Payoh in 1-2 years' time and the girls & I will be moving back to SG for their schooling but will be in JB during the weekends.
My question is that if there's balloting during the Phase 2B (we are Catholics) & we didn't get in, can we apply again for Phase 2C? What are the chances? :xedfingers:
We do really want our girls to be in CHIJ Toa Payoh. :nailbite:
:thankyou: -
if fail in balloting at Phase 2B (for Catholic schools like CHIJ Toa payoh primary), SC children can still ballot under Phase 2C, less than 1 km radius.
can refer past historical trend, for CHIJ Toa Payoh primary :-

I am in the exact same situation trying at Phase 2B for 2014, but already within 1km.Hi kiasu parents,

So far 1km at Phase 2B is quite safe no balloting since 2012, the year I started tracking.
Phase 2C may require balloting within 1km. :xedfingers: -

It depends how far your house is from Fairfield...if <1km u still can PV & pray no balloting in your year. If Dragon year don't bother. The plus side of doing PV is that u get to observe whether the school culture is what u want for your child. I'm not sure how things are at Fairfield now after the good principal left...
Hi Zac's mum, Thanks again for your reply. Been away from the forum for a while... needed to think about the whole P1 registration thingy... haha.. too stressful! Lucky for me, DS is not born in dragon year. I am not near FF at all but contemplating moving if necessary but looking at statistics does not seem a wise choice. I do have NanHua and Qifa within 1 Km but Nan hua is as difficult to get in.... and I am not sure if higher Chinese will be too stressful for the child...Mummytang:
Hi there, last year phase 2B Fairfield balloting for SC at 1-2km: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/queenstown/
Henry Park no balloting but that's probably because there are very few PVs or GRLs: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/bukit-timah/
Nan Hua no balloting last year but could be due to Tiger year fewer \"Chinese\" parents had babies: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/clementi/
Qifa recent years by phase 2CS has zero places left. Last year at phase 2C balloting for SC >2km (see same link as Nan Hua).
Thanks a lot zac's mum!
Looks like I should not consider PV at Fairfield as it might be risky...? -
Hi hi,
Any parents here can share your experience of trying for Rosyth Primary?
I’m registering DD for p1 under phase 2C in July. We’re SC staying within 1km of Rosyth. Just the thought of balloting for phase 2C within 1km for SC scares the hell out of me. -
Hi
I need advice. I have done my PV in Ngee Ann Primary but I am staying in Bedok. I really want my kid to go to Red Swatiska because it is still within walking distance. In dilema should I try for Phase 2C for Red Swatiska but high chance there will be balloting. What a stressful exercise to go through?
If I register for Phase 2B for Ngee Ann and I want to retract my application to apply for Phase 2C for Red Swatiska, is this possible? If yes, how fast can this be done? Can someone advise me on this?
Greatly appreciate advice on above. Thanks
