Don't waste your time and money on sending your kids on an \"Improving your memory\" course. They will teach you specific techniques to improve your memory, but the real challenge is how can the kid apply the memory techniques back to the school work, its not an easy process.

Personally I've spent alot of money going for these memory courses, hoping to train my students, but realised that its hopeless. Later to my astonishment, I found out that I can find all these memory techniques from books in the library.

I realised that the best \"memory technique\" is to understand, especially the maths topics. We need to train the kid how to \"think and understand\" when they see certain questions, memory doesn't work in maths.
Thanks for sharing. Can you share which are the books to look for?Do you have any good technique to share how to train the kid to think & understand?

      Thanks

i second your opinion on this.

i believe in esp maths, memory is not the crucial problem. its more of understanding the concept which matters more. but most importantly you must also make sure that the child learning attitude is right else whatever courses or tuition you send him to, there wouldn't make a difference.

Hi kitty2, there's a trainer by the name of Nishant Kasibhatla. He is the grand master of memory and world record holder. Nishant conducts training in areas such as peak mental performance, memory improvement and etc to schools, companies or individual. I came to know him thru the Education Summit and he was one of the speakers.

              Hope it helps. Cheers!
HOw much does this trainer charge for his training? How long does it take to see any visible results?
              Much Kiasu,
              Karen

My friend's son has problem remembering what he has learnt, his weakest subject is Maths. My friend could teach him and he said he could understand but 5 mins later, she asked him the same question but he could not remember :x .

Anyone has the same problem? Is there any way to improve his memory or any food to improve memory?

                Thanks
Does he have enough sleep? Math needs clarity of mind to understand and to handle the questions.

Write…write…write. Even though you feel you may not be good at writing, you’d be surprised how you wake up. Write your feelings down. Anything. It keeps you alive and who knows, maybe you’re really good at something you never even tried before.

Yes, there is a way to improve memory. By having a healthy lifestyle it can support your brain health and even encourage your brain to grow new neurons, a process known as neuroplasticity. Lifestyle factors that may improve memory and promote neurogenesis include exercise, eating right, and getting proper sleep.Other memory tricks include avoiding multitasking, learning a new skill, playing brain games and using mnemonics to help you remember information.

Interesting topic! My son doesn’t speak yet, he is almost 3 years old, so I haven’t faced the same issue. But I guess poem learning by heart can help as it trains memory. I should say, I’ve found a good and useful piece of information here. Thanks a lot, guys!
