Hii all :? as usuali I am confused.lol.. 😄 ok here's the problem.

The kids and I have only gone to KL and Bintan so far. Now I am planning to go for a very good holiday with them. My dream will be to see Christmas and snow somewhere. However, in order not to waste too much money ,I think for the June holidays will just go somewhere which will not be too tough on the pockets.

Another problem is as my hubby has got many business calls to attend to ,I cant go to a place where I have to be in a plane for more than 5 hours and he cant keep away for more than 4 days from Singapore.

I am thinking of a holiday where the kids can enjoy and at the same time, we can relax somewhere. A place where there are nice beaches as well.

        Can anyone suggest something ?

Good places with beaches would be the usual places in Thailand, eg Phuket, Phi Phi, Ko Samui etc, but only worry is the current unrest in Thailand though these places are not affected. Penang and Langkawi have nice beaches too.

We flew by Budget Airline, Firefly, to Kuantan last year. Stayed at Swiss Garden by the beach. Short but relaxing trip.

I also read somewhere that SilkAir is having some joint promotion with MasterCard.

            Seoul in Dec?

probably the cheapest place to enjoy snow, good food & shopping and theme park for the kids.

              My own opinion -->
For families with kids, Krabi is more suitable than Redang.

Wow, penglee, nice and tempting pictures, makes me very tempted. :rubhands: May I know which travel agent did you use, which airline etc or was it a F&E package? How much was it per adult either package or F&E, if you don't mind my asking. Thanks in advance.

Hi all thanks for your wonderful suggestions. At the moment for the June holidays ,maybe I will decide between Langkawi or Krabi…

but is it safe to go Krabi with the unrest now ?

                        hi 25hourMummy,
u can convince hubby to sponsor you a trip, for Mother's day
                        - We diy book flight/accomodation.
                        - we book island hopping package at hotel, price pretty standard as a lot of competition.

We took Tiger Air, not realistic to list price, as they have ongoing promotions, and price varies .
For accomodation, we stayed at LaPlaya (http://www.krabilaplaya.com/).

Seems to feature in most local tour packages prominently.
                        We consider 4*, friendly staffs.
                        - But out of the way. Need to walk 5 min for some shopping, 20min to stretch along Mac (more dining varieties)
                        - no free shuttle service, worst, no children's pool!
                        - hotel recommended for family with grown kids, or honeymooners

we recommend you google for resorts along Ao-Nang beach.
Can be crowded, but at least nearer to ammenities.
If you do not want to be disturbed, try Railey, or Phi Phi.

                        sea-transport for island hopping
                        1)longboat - 450B/adult, 350B/Child
                        2) speedboat - 1200/adult, 1000/child

                        Try both. :celebrate:

ps.. if you want to pamper yourselves, try Vogue from Tamarind --> http://krabiwithkids.blogspot.com/2008/02/koh-hong-island.html
