2017 P1 Registration Exercise for 2018 In-Take

Need advice on Phase 2A1 as am first time going through this baptism of fire :yikes:


Will be registering my gal under Phase 2A1 and was informed by alumni office that the time of registration (i.e. morning or afternoon) does not matter in terms of priority. My questions are:-

1) What will be the considerations if balloting is required Eg. SC, distance from school or really all put in ballot box?
2) How will parents be informed if a ballot is required at the end of the day on 5 Jul?
3) How will parents be informed of the results on 7 Jul?

Really grateful if parents with past experience can advise :rahrah:

I can see a lot of data’s until Phase 2C, But can’t see any Analysis on Phase 3 ?? I duly Agree and respect Gov View on Citizen and PR, but Shall have a transparent View or Analysis on Children’s selection In Phase 3.

1. By distance only, based on 3 distinct groups in order of priority:
a) <=1km
b) >1km & <=2km
c) >2km
This is the reason why people try to get an address as close to the school as possible.
2. I think the school will call the parents. I might be wrong, as I didn't go through balloting.
3. Results will be sent to parents by post, but most parents just attend the balloting session or call the school right after the session.

Thanks zacmum for the link. I was happy for a moment that for sngs, phase 1 number is quite good. Then I remembered the bulk of them comes from alumni… haiz, praying hard that it’s not going to be oversubscribed till my phase of 2A2

as allocation is done centrally. btw the analysis and data as far as i can see is done by us, the parents. :faint:

I don't think you will get to see Phase 2A2.

wait for day 2 first. too many parameter to look at now. Applicants at phase 1 day 1 is more than phase 1 last year.

U didn't join Alumni? Good news is the number of Phase 1 has decreased so pray for the best but be prepared for the worst.

Phase 1 day 1 number is higher than last year but still lower than 2015. Need day 2 to close to have a slightly better picture.

For each phase, if the total applicant number is more than the available slots, then the ballot will happen, this is most impt data you first i think. If oversubscribe, SC will first get (meaning getting the total number of SC applied is important), if that is not enough then distance play a part (split of the applicants with distance). Unless you have 2 school of choice in 2A1, it is unlikely anyone will withdraw at this time. Later phases will be your backup option but i think its best to end the registration process at 2A1 and prepare for school!
