      Hi,

I have a question. My child is year-end 2013 born (Dec). Is it possible for her to go for P1 in 2021 instead of 2020? Does this happen or is it allowed?

Unless she has some learning difficulties and the psychologist recommends for deferment, it is not likely to be granted. You can check with MOE whether they allowed or not?

If your child can cope, why do you want to postpone? It's an advantage to be able to start early.

Niece born on 1 Jan would have to register for p1 with those born the year before. Her kindergarten didn't find any learning difficulties with her either. Unless a child is slow and the child psychologist has recommended deferment, MOE will not agree.

Praying that competition for our 2013 snakes won’t be as tough. Next year’s dragons will have a tough time

This page has the info u need:
                        https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/allocation

In summary, Singaporeans before PR in any phase. If there are more applicants than vacancies, then balloting is required and that's when home distance comes into play.
