If we are to enroll my son in Ngee Ann Primary then my hubby will say it doesn't make sense he goes join the alumni and waste money. I'm pretty sure there is no balloting in phase 2C for Ngee Ann primary. We are staying ard Ngee Ann Primary, TNS and St Patrick but to give up ATS over Ngee Ann Primary or St Patrick don't think it's worth it when so many pple are trying to put the kids in.

Catholic high is very hard to get in and if we alr had a gurantee place at ATS then no point to consider Cath high.

Lee_yl your friend kid got into TNS after P2? Our take now is to rent a place ard ATS first and see how things go. If can get into TNS at least we can move back orelse just stay put at bishan.
The alumni fees can't be compared to what you would be forking out to rent a place near ATS or to buy a car to shuttle your son between MP & Bishan over the next few years, can you?

Since it is almost a guaranteed place for your son in ATS, you may consider shifting to Bishan & instead of being placed on a waitlist at TNS (which you consider very hard to get in), and as a backup, you can consider being put on waitlist for Cath High, a GEP center with affiliation to a good secondary sch. Hearsay some boys who did well in ATS, are also on waitlist to CHS too. By the way, St Pat has affiliation to SJI, it's key selling point.

If your plan is to rent a place near ATS, and you manage to successfully register your son at ATS, note that you are still likely to need to ballot for TNS at 2B & 2C, which means you need to first withdraw him from ATS (and the process is irreversible) with no certainty of getting into TNS.

Friend relocated & joined clan, but failed to ballot under 2B and 2C. Child only managed to transfer by P3. I am not sure whether he was given priority because he balloted for TNS previously. Or because his second child got in after a successful ballot during the P1 registration and based on sibling priority.

I will not think of joining phase 2C for TNS cos I know very low chance can get in that’s why I only want to put on waiting list. Most likely phase 2B alr need balloting.

I din know that St Pat is affiliated to SJI. I thought only SJI junior is affiliated to SJI? I’m not very keen on boy school though.

Hi all - Can someone help with my queries?

Would like to check what kind of canteen food is sold? and about how much per portion?
Does any parents here pack food for their kids to be eaten during the morning break?
What about lunch - also pack food? Becoz I heard that the kids will only reach home about 2 plus to 3pm…

              Thanks in advance!

              Regards
              Ashley

                Hi Ashley,

                Canteen food:
                1. Fresh handmade noodles $1.80-2.30
                2.Drinks stall $$0.70-1.20
3.Local noodles like fish ball noodle, minced pork noodle etc $1.50-2.00
                4. Chicken rice $1.50-2.00
                5. Western rice set $1.70-2.50
                6. Jap food $1.70-2.20

I do not pack food for them cos it’s too early for me and I am concerned if the food will go bad in our hot weather.
The kids have a mini snack break around noon time in the classroom.

                Hope that helps!

Hi all, my Son will be in ATS next year for P1. Can someone let us know what to expect?

In terms of cca, and the whole educational system in ATS.

                  Thanks all

Hihi, I am a newbie here, need your candid opinion. My girl has gotten a place at ATS. As RGPS is within 1km from my place, we are in a big dilemma now as to whether or not to give up our place and go for RGPS at 2C which has a high chance too.

I would greatly appreciate to hear from all of you on which school you would choose and why?

Both schools will offer you both pros and cons, and hence, trade offs. But in general:

If your other child is also a daughter (i.e. no son) or this is your only child, then RGPS. Otherwise. ATS.

If RGPS goes into balloting (quite unlikely at the moment), then ATS. You will have to monitor on the last day of registration to see how things go.
