Congrats to all St Nicโs and Maris Stella parents! No balloting needed.

I have 2 neighbours at my blk who rented out their HDB flats to foreigners. Then they rented a condo who is within 1km of their choice sch. Both moved out to the condos during June holidays to prepare for this coming p1 registration. They shared that now Condo rental is very cheap due to the over supply of rental flats in the market now.BigMomma:
I know that rental needs at least 30 months but how about resale? Need to show proof of property purchase or just the IC address would be fine?
I don't really understand your qn. The 30 months is after, not before. In most circumstances you just show your IC address.
For uncompleted (new) property, you can show Proof of purchase, with some restrictive timelines. See here for more details:

Kinda unfair but it is a real fact of life. As long as u have $ and does not mind the hassle of moving, anyone can do it to get into your choice sch. Of coz your hdb flat most alr be 5yrs MOP and your homework make sure that the past statistics with 1km of your rental apartment do not need to ballot for SC. -

I agree. She had no choice though cos the child was sick that day.Do not bring your children into the balloting venue, this Fri (21/ July 2017)

Last year for my son's balloting also got some kids attended. Halfway thru, one boy started crying even though it wasn't over yet. I believe they can sense the thick tension in the room.
I didn't even tell my child which school we applied for, or that I was attending a balloting session. Only after the place was confirmed, then happily announced to him...and faced the difficult qn: why didn't enrol him to his best friend's school? Ans: no place there left for u, too bad. -
ATS should be able to make exception since there is a twin in phase 2b within 1km. I would say more or less they are in as long as one of them get in. Since its only oversubscribed by 1 the principal can talk to MOE right. Itโs quite unfair to the last one who din get in.

Apparently the negotiation (if any) fell thru, since MOE website says ATS will be holding the balloting for <1km. 30 heads vying for the 29 places. Fair or unfair, depends on which side of the fence you are on. Members of the public who can only try under 2C, to them it will be blatantly unfair if 1 seat is suddenly taken away from them. -

Then the phase 2C will cry foul. Getting in at phase 2B is like a bonus shot. They have another shot at phase 2C, definitely more intense competition though. They do have a double chance compared to the Phase 2Cs.
Well, hopefully the last seat goes to the twins (though sorry that the whole balloting process will be a torture for the parents)..Then everyone in the phase 2B will get their seat. :xedfingers:
Actually, the twins' parents will be most relaxed during the balloting. If they get selected early, both twins get in. If they get the last ticket, both twins get in too. So they will definitely get in, isn't it so? It is the other 28 parents who will be biting their nails. -

wah, this is really a tragedy. Those 30 heads won't be able to sleep for a few daysshenice:

Actually the odds are quite good. Last year my balloting odds were 51 vying for 49 places (another school), I also considered quite good.
Even if you have difficult odds, a chance is still a chance. Pray to whichever God u may have and remember to give thanks if u get the seat. All the best to those balloting tmr or Friday! -

yes, those 28 parents would be worried, even thou they have a chance to ballot again at 2c, but it would mean they have to go thru another week of wait.
