Onemap is based on the direct distance between the school and the home, i.e. radius originating fro the school.
Onemap is also the official map / tool used by the schools and MOE.
Elite is an unreliable source and should be avoided at all cost.

Oh goodness. We are always using elite and thought it's official. Btw onemap uses actual route by vehicle. Do they use radius like elite? Getting confuse...

You don't have to bother about the actual mechanics of how Onemap works - if it says you are within 1km, you are within 1km; if it says otherwise, it's otherwise. It's not as if you would be able to change the classification.

Refer to Orb's earlier posting on how to use the School Query search field.

Ah, but did you know that people who pantang and don't want Dragon girl, they will either abstain, or use \"special techniques\" to get a boy instead? All hearsay. And all guesswork on my part.

What are some reasons why \"people pantang dragon girl\"?

Ladies, I gotten the data. The answer is...... 2012 dragon year has more girls then boys. This is a factor to analyse for those aiming for girl's school.

        https://www.msf.gov.sg/research-and-data/Research-and-Statistics/Pages/Singapore-Demographic-Sex-Ratio-Males-to-Females.aspx
This statistics for the overall population in that given year not for the babies born in that year...

I think data is for the total population of Singapore not for the babies born that year. Women live longer than men, hence there are more elderly ladies living hence the female population ratio is higher than male.

The rest should be self explanatory.

We are considering to move within 1km of phrase 2c school so that it will be easier to get to sch esp early morning.

The 2c sch is accessible for us in term of traveling to work place as compared to phrase 2a. Think the strategy is to secure one at 2a first then if 2c looks too bleak then will drop lor. Based on past few years records, within1km seems quite positive but u nvr knows esp dragon years and more boys. Probably we will have 1 parent each in the school to see the balloting application… cos i heard that each application is given in running numbers.

Glad to read that we are in similar boat. But for my case, the phase 2C sch is >2km. But so much nearer to new place. My phase 1 sch is a SAP school btw. But like u, I headache over the logistics.

What about yours? If yours is within 1km and not a "branded" sch then should be confident to get it, if u withdraw from phase 2A. Will u be hovering in the phase 2C school on the last day to find out the registeration numbers and applicants distance? Let’s us all think of a strategy.
Yes you have to use computer because it's not optimized for mobile.

There's an sort of unofficial app - Pocket Onemap - developed by NYP which can be used on mobile. It draws data from Onemap and has the school query function.

                      Hi

May I know if sngs still accept pv? If yes if we stay just within 2km (1.91km to be exact using http://www.elite.com.sg) do we stand a chance to get in under phase 2b if ballot is needed?

                      Thank you

If I am not wrong SNGS does not have PV, too late any way for next year.
Wrong website to use for checking distance, pls use onemap which is the official map for MOE.
I am sure is zero chance for Dragon year for 1-2km, normally only with 1km get in or even ballot.

                      SNGS does accept PV

If refer to condition#1 of past year PV St Nick application form, it state that Applicants who wish to apply for PV : must stay less than 1 km, from St Nick

Sorry, couldn't find the latest 2017 PV form for u from the web, but u may call up St Nick school to verify if applicants still need to stay less than 1 km

Eg of past year PV form
