can someone rectify this. it showing wrong school under different Area. instead of showing respective school for that Area, it just sort by Alphabetically and insert into that Area. -
My son did not make it for phase 2B through the Ballot at SJIJ this week. is it worth reapplying for phase 2C?
He is SC and we live > 2km.
Do they take previous tentatives into account for the phase 2C applications?
thank you -
Sirrisap:
Unfortunately no, you have to start afresh at phase 2C. Likely to be balloting again for >2km at phase 2C though. Why don't you try a safer school nearer to your house? Unless you're game to try balloting again & have a reliable fallback school at phase 2C(S).My son did not make it for phase 2B through the Ballot at SJIJ this week. is it worth reapplying for phase 2C?

SJIJ usually ballots for <2km under 2C. You may not even get a chance to ballot. Priority is to secure a school in 2C. All the best!My son did not make it for phase 2B through the Ballot at SJIJ this week. is it worth reapplying for phase 2C?

Orb:
don't waste your chance at 2C. staying out of 2km means you don't get to smell a chance to ballot. secure a school within 1km...2C is open to all. it's depressing when you get balloted out and have to go to 2Cs.

Every new Phase start afresh. Hence, won't look at results of the previous Phase balloting. My son did not make it for phase 2B through the Ballot at SJIJ this week. is it worth reapplying for phase 2C?

At Phase 2C :
the balloting is even much more intense, than that at Phase 2B, much more competitive, since 2C is opened to public.
Residents staying more than 2 km outside of SJI, under 2C : may not even be eligible for balloting, this year (being popular Rabbit year). Look out for the balloting numbers breakdown by distance, on the last day of P2C.
Suggest you try to enrol your son into some other schools, under 2C. Don't waste your precious chance, at 2C
Most parents who failed in balloting at 2C, end up in Phase 2C Supplementary: tend to feel miserable -

If you can live with the schools under phase 2c (s), then go ahead to try for SJI.My son did not make it for phase 2B through the Ballot at SJIJ this week. is it worth reapplying for phase 2C?

ok. sounds like applying again at 2C is a risky strategy without a fallback scenario. thank you for your feedbacks.

2C is one phase which parents shouldn't take risks. with the reduction of p1 vacancies due to falling birth rates, you want to secure a place without going through the risk of being balloted out, feeling miserable and desperate looking for a vacancy in phase 2Cs. this year rabbit and next year dragon, it is not worth the risk. -
Hi all,
I have 3 plans:
1) Register for Punggol Green using my address:
I dont stay there but since the school is within 1km, i may consider. But i also heard that there are many young families in Punggol so balloting has been happening every year. Seats left: 165
2) Register for Holy Innocents
I can use my mil’s address as we have been staying there since birth and we did a SD. The school is within 1km but i understand that it will be pushed down to within 2km coz it is a SD address. Seats left: 47
3) Register for CHIJ OLN:
Within 2km under SD address but no balloting past years for 2C and so fourth. Seats left: 91
