I am within 1km for Holy innocent, Xinmin & Hougang, with vacancies 47, 87, 83 respectively.

anyone facing same dilemma as me?

may the odds be always in our favor.
Welcome to The Reaping (slightly different as you want your glass ball to be picked).

Yes. As long as that Phase require balloting, statutory declaration is required, for those parents who need it.

        This statement is incorrect.

As long as you wish to register their child using the address of the child’s grandparent or the parent’s sibling and the address is within 2 km from the school of choice, statutory declaration is required.

Whether there's balloting in that Phase or otherwise, it's inconsequential.

        U are right

        my own correction -
\"As long as that Phase require balloting, statutory declaration is applicable, for those parents who need it\".

Should not have used the word \"required\", because it is not compulsory. Why not compulsory ? because not every parent require to use it.

So if is not applicable to those parents who don't even need it, in the first case.

        The condition is :
Applicable only to those, who need to use it.[/quote]I think you miss the point.

It is compulsory and applicable, as long as you intend to use someone else's address (i.e. child’s grandparent or the parent’s sibling) within 2km.

Whether that phase eventually requires balloting or not, is inconsequential - for at the point of application, no one will know whether there's balloting in that phase or not.

In popular schools, just curious how many parents will register on the last day, particularly in the last afternoon of Phase 2C? Is there a trend based on the last few years as they are getting more and more savvy with the process?

It's quite normal for the parents to wait until last minute before registering. So you'll have to be on standby just in case the odds is turning against you and you need to activate your backup plan.

Tanjong Katong Primary will be moving to holding site for 2 years (2018 & 2019) at Upper Change Road, does anyone here know will there be single session or 2 sessions (morning and afternoon)?

Where can i find the information, i look thru their website but no further information on the move?

Can i call the school and check because i have yet to register my DD for P1. I'll register in phase 2C. Thanks..

Currently, this year 2017 batch of P1 students at Tanjong Katong primary : still study in the afternoon session, although many primary school students in Sg had already gone into single session.

At this point in time, MOE had not announced to public, not to the school yet, whether Tanjong Katong primary will go into single session or not, for 2018 P1 batch.

The entire school is still awaiting for confirmation to be released, from MOE HQ.

Hence, u won't be able to find any info posted on their school website yet, concerning this.

No choice, just wait patiently for MOE to make their decision, first.

In due time, MOE will announce, and you will know the answer

Oh dear... any idea when will MOE announce the news? Maybe I'm too kiasu because I'm start looking for Student Care. As a working mother with no maid, it is a headache when P1 is in the afternoon session with no student care in school. :?:

Anyway, thanks phtthp for letting me know.... 😉

Alright. Is it good to register on Friday morning and monitor the situation? At least we have 2 hours in the afternoon to deregister and register again at another school if things go worse.

Why do you want to do that? 🤷

Might as well decide once and for all on the afternoon of the third day?

I guess it might deter other parents in the same shoe from registering.😄

Hi not sure if you are referring to ACSP and ACSJ.

The 1-2km parents may be joining in as well as the odds for 1-2km looks better this year. If both the 1km and 1-2km parents all have the same idea of registering and withdrawing in the last hour deciding between ACSP and ACSJ, can't imagine the chaos at the registration counters during the crucial last hour, and how the numbers will fluctuate.

Maybe there should be a VIX index for school registration for measuring volatility.
