2017 P1 Registration Exercise for 2018 In-Take

blackmango:
Hi blackmango,Hi all! I am registering my daughter for Raffles Girls' Primary School under Phase 2c and I live 1-2km from the school. Any parent also registering their daughter for this primary school?
I have studied the past years' balloting statistics and this year's take-up rate after Phase 2B, but was wondering for views as to the chance of my daughter getting into RGPS during Phase 2C since we don't live within 1km, but 1-2km instead.
Many thanks for advice!
With 109 seats left behind this year, for Phase 2C (Rgps), based on past years' trend, for this school -
possible for balloting to arise outside 2 km, for SC.
On the last day of Phase 2C (i.e. Friday, 28 July 2017) , just monitor the figure closely.
Around 3.45 pm till 4.30 pm, the number will keep increasing rapidly, very fast !
In the last half hour left, less than every 5 minutes or so, the officer in charge will come out frequently, to update / refresh the latest number on the white board, break down by distance (< 1 km, <2km, > 2 km)
So, hang around the white board, in the last half hour.
By the way, there is no need to hurry to register on the 1st day of Phase 2C, so fast.
You can wait until the last day of P2C (this Friday), then enrol your daughter.
While the risk for Xinmin is lower, Xinmin is still likely to ballot for those staying within 1km. So it still all boils down to luck. Personally, if both my target schools require balloting <1km, I will choose Rosyth.galaxyraider:
Hi all, pls guide us along. We are SC, staying just opposite Rosyth. However within 1km, there's only rosyth and xinming. We are in phase2c. I would prefer to get into rosyth. However, I'm worried if we can't get it, 2cS do not seem to have many schools with vacancies. What should we do?
You will have a better chance in Xinming. If you insist to register in Rosyth, be prepared for the worst by choosing another school for Phase 2C(S).
Thanks Chief n galaxy rider,
Would it be unsound to register for rosyth tomorrow, mean while monitor. If oversubscription is crazy, I dereg rosyth and go XinMin. That's assuming I do that by 2pm?
If all else fail, based on last year 2Cs results, within 2km and with vacancy, I've choice o CHIJ OLGC & zhonghua. I just can't find enough info on zhonghua and is concern of the high vacancy in phase 2Cs. Does that means zhonghua is unpopular? -
Hi fellow parents/advisors
does anyone have experience with registration online for Phase2C in previous years?
Is the registration confirmed similar to walk-in at school? as online did not request to upload any documents, don't know is it not yet process only till all walk-in registrations are completed???
anyone got advice on this or some one from MOE knows the difference between online and offline registration?
:thankyou:
Best regards. -

Seriously, if parents are holding back (this includes those parents who had registered in the earlier phases) and only registering on the last day (especially in the last part of the afternoon), how are parents able to guage the demand (such as balloting and even their odds) of a school?
I Think parents shld just register as early as possible so others can make an informed decision on their chances. -
Hi, I’m new here and very much appreciate your help.
I’ve just registered my kid for 2C, and wondering if we can still see the daily statistics of the applicants either on kiasu site or MOE site this year. I don’t seem to find any statistics as of yesterday (online applicants from Wed). -

For number of registrations, you'll have to wait till this evening for an update. Otherwise, check in here and see if other parents are generous enough to post them.Hi, I'm new here and very much appreciate your help.

I heard that as of now, it is confirmed that Sengkang Green will go into balloting for SG citizens within 1km, based on online figures.
