I'm staying within 1km of Rosyth & will most likely be in phase 2c. Anyone knows the breakdown & if anyone had to go ballot within 1km for 2c? Dragon baby next year registering, super nervous already xo
Don't count on Phase 2C. Please try to do PV so you can secure your seat in Phase 2B. Your location is too good to waste in Phase 2C as the balloting for dragon babies will be worse than this year. -
But i thought PV needs to be 2 yrs before registration? I called a few schools and their PV have closed on 1 jul
-
Qn 2: are you affiliated to clan/religion under 2b?[/quote]
No, not affiliated to any clans .
Also none of the IJ schools are affiliated to STC primary . Not even Kellock

I didn't know about the cut-off date for PV. That's bad as you're only late by 1 month.
In this case you have to go for balloting in Phase 2C. At the same time, prepare a backup school for Phase 2C(S) just in case you get balloted out.
Or you can forget about Rosyth and go for another school which is safe for you. -
Think would go for PHRASE 2c since they are all gg to be in the same session.
It will be easier to bring them home too. 45mins wll be really far.tinywings:
What will u do if u r in my shoes?
In dragon yr, to register my child in a SAP school in phase 1, need to travel 45mins by school bus. Elder child will be AM session, dragon child PM session (silbings lesser time to bond).
OR...
to register in a neighbourhood school in phase 2C (cannot predict the statistics for next yr, comparing the statistics in kiasuparent site 6 out of 12 yrs need to ballot), but the traveling time is only 15mins. Both elder and dragon child AM session, logistics more convenient.
Dragon child does not dislike Chinese, the Mandarin standard is average. -
Hi everyone,
My wife and I hope to send our daughter to a popular school in phase 2B (parent volunteer), with my wife’s former primary school as a back up in phase 2A. What would be the best strategy to adopt during the registration exercise? Are we allowed to apply in phase 2A, and then subsequently in phase 2B, so that we drop my wife’s primary school in 2A to move to the school in 2B? How does that work, and what steps should we take?
Or are we allowed to only apply and secure a place in one phase?
New to this, appreciate any help. Thanks! -

You may register at Phase 2A. But u will need to withdraw from your wife's school in phase 2B and register in the popular school.Hi everyone,

I would suggest you monitor your odds on last day of phase 2B then decide whether there balloting for you. Once you withdraw from school A and you are unsuccessful in 2B, you have to go to 2C. -

I'm somewhat in the same situation too. May I ask KSPs for kind advise if I can do the following?

P2A(2) - Previous primary school (X). Register and secured a place.
P2B (PV) - Popular school (Y). Decided to deregister at school X and register under this phase at school Y.
If fail at P2B at school Y, can I go back to school X again and register under P2C? Will school X bar me from registering in future phases bcoz I registered and secured a place then subsequently deregistered and gave up the place? -

You will not be penalised. However, its quite a hassle isn't it. Why not just register at 2B and if unsuccessful, go to 2C and register at school X?

If anyone is thinking of a popular school becoming less popular next year, don't. The odds aren't getting any better and the risks are probably higher.

Saves you the hassle of registering / deregistering.
