Follow up with child's work after tuition / enrichment class

Enrichment centres do help me to teach her new concepts/things. I must admit that i am pretty impatient and quick tempered. Engaging the help of enrichment centres help me to scream less, my daughter fear me less, and bond more. And of coz, i revise her school and enrichment class homeworks. Revision is so much peaceful than to teach new concepts myself

Exactly the same case as me. I used to try teach maths to my son. Simple addition and subtraction leads me to screaming at him and tearing my hair out. I have since left it to the schools and whatever outside help I can get. I don't want my son to be cringing at the sight of me, or at the books.

I do as am wondering how my child is taking the tuition?

Do u think all qualify teachers charged a premium?How true?

I did hire someone that is non nie trained , to save cost but it didnt work out for my child.

So, no choice , have to go for something else and try out.

Didn’t send ds1 (in P3) to tuitions, coach him at home since his results are still ok. With his current school homework load and CCA, think it will probably tire him out with tuition classes.


However, I think might send him to tuition or motivational classes during his P5 or P6 years just to ensure he gets the last push…

Its really varies among individual.

Some prefer to study alone while some need one to one guidance but there are also child who learn better in groups.

As a parent, we have to observe and understand what environment of learning suit your child best.

Phew.........that's what happened to me recently and it sets me seriously thinking of sending my DS to an enrichment centre too. Maybe we do not have the right skills to impart the knowledge?

i think we should supervise their progress in studies, and not let the tuition center/tutor do it.

If you are happy with his results, you can speak to him about it.

Ask him how he feels about his results. If he's satisfied and you are satisfied, then encourage him to keep it up without a need for tuition.

Some kids prefer not to have tuition if they can meet your expectations.
However, there are also kids who want tuition as they themselves do not want to lose out.
If your kid wants tuition, then tuition will work to his/her benefit. And you will have less 'stress' wondering if your child is enjoying tuition.

Tuition during P5/6 will be very exam-focused. Some children who never had tuition before may not be able to take the stress from tuition.
