Follow up with child's work after tuition / enrichment class

If you are happy with his results, you can speak to him about it.Didn't send ds1 (in P3) to tuitions, coach him at home since his results are still ok. With his current school homework load and CCA, think it will probably tire him out with tuition classes.
However, I think might send him to tuition or motivational classes during his P5 or P6 years just to ensure he gets the last push....
Ask him how he feels about his results. If he's satisfied and you are satisfied, then encourage him to keep it up without a need for tuition.
Some kids prefer not to have tuition if they can meet your expectations.
However, there are also kids who want tuition as they themselves do not want to lose out.
If your kid wants tuition, then tuition will work to his/her benefit. And you will have less 'stress' wondering if your child is enjoying tuition.
Tuition during P5/6 will be very exam-focused. Some children who never had tuition before may not be able to take the stress from tuition. -
yah, will definitely talk to him about it when there's a need for him to get extra help.

Hi,
Anyone know of any proven scient tutor or enrichment class?

My gal did not do well for her P2 Maths this year. She has been attending Just Education. I am thinking whether 1-1 is better for her. Any advice?
The more I charge for tuition, the more stressful I am.Lynn2:
Hey mummies
Just wonder, do u have the same thought that the more expensive you pay for a tuition, as in one to one basis, do u feel even more streessful?
I do as am wondering how my child is taking the tuition?
Do u think all qualify teachers charged a premium? How true?
Reason: pressurized to ensure the child perform to justify my fee. :nailbite: School teachers charge much more but you can get a good tutor (if not better) even if he/she is not NIE trained or a school teacher. (like me)

Hi angel,
My ds also has the same problem. He is in P2 now. I spoke with his form teacher. She recommended on top of 1 to 1 tution, I need to buy extra sets of Maths workbooks. She said what kids do in school, get them to do it at home with the tutor. I spoke to ds's tutor. She agreed with what the form teacher said. I also made a terrible mistake of not following up on ds tuition or school work. *outsourcing* everything to his ex-tutor  . His new tutor (being a friend of mine and the owner of a tution agency) reminded me to follow up on ds's work & not depend on her to follow up  . I guess it is partly my fault that ds did badly for this year..

the same as me, i feel so guilty...First I must admit I had not been a resonsible mum. I had been outsourcing my girl to a student care and a chinese tuition centre since she started P1. Now that she is in P3, I kinda suddenly woke up and realised I've not been involved enough/at all and when i start checking in with her, realised she has not been paying attention during the chinese tuition class and has not been doing the assessment books effectively while at the student care.
Although she has not done too badly at school, it seems now she has a lot to catch up with (by my standard). So i've been very ON, trying to coach her at night and during the weekends, but there is just not enough time.
I'm pretty exasperated and would appreciate any advice on how best to manage. The way i see it - she's weakest in Chinese and oral/creative writing for both Chinese and English. -
