I pity the 12yos. It wasn't like that during my time but the introduction of IP schools really turned up the pressure. And like it or not, once the boat is missed, it takes much more effort to catch up again. We really spend too much time preparing for PSLE, time which could be better spent learning new skills.
Totally agree. Our nation is too obsessed with PSLE because it is an exam with high stakes and will determine which route our kids take for the next 4 to 6 years. We parents also spend alot of time \"re-studying\" PSLE at the expense of personal development

        It definitely relives our pressure.
With the CO in hand, DD1 is actually motivated to work harder for the final lap.
        :congrats:

Ya lah, so much time, energy, effort and :moneyflies: all just for this high stakes exam / rat race is really :frustrated:

Although we have a CO in hand, looking back, it is definitely not fun!!! Hope that the new AL banding can make life less stressful for the next generation.

Parents, can someone enlighten me on the school allocation process. So after we submit the preference form, regardless WL or CO, when will we know the school posting? Is it on PSLE results day, or is it on the same day as all other kids who didn’t take part in DSA?

              Thank you.

Just came across this. Does it mean that if a child gets a CO via DSA, he / she cannot choose to reject the CO and apply to a school via S1 posting?

Oh, found the answer further down. Doesn't affect me either way, but good to know!
