Head Lice in Kids
-
Anyone of you have experience with this problem?
How does the child gets it? Is it from classmates in the school?
How to treat and get rid of head lice effectively?
What other preventive measures to take in future?
TIA. -
Can be due to never clean hair properly.
Cut hair short. Gaurdian sells the lotion to treat hair lice. Follow the instructions.
Make sure hair is cleaned thoroughly. -
My DD had head lice when she was in a childcare. Think it’s from her classmates as they take afternoon naps in school everyday. We bought a special comb which can comb out the head lice. It’s time consuming but very effective. She also used a special shampoo for head lice.

Thanks for sharing.
I bought that special comb, commonly known as “Ah ma” comb, to weed out the head lice & eggs in the hair.
But I used the special head shampoo more frequently, twice a day. Can be bought from the Chinese Medicinal Stores. Used for a week or so. Must leave the hair with the shampoo for as long as possible (half an hour or so). Initially, I used and washed away after a few minutes, which is the wrong usage.
Thinks it works quite well, together with myself, conscientiously pulling out the eggs from their hair everyday. -

I definitely agree, hair should properly be cleaned everyday. Head lice usually attacks during summertime where our heads are usually sweaty and hot, easy accumulates germs. Head lice shampoos are also being sold nowadays. Can be due to never clean hair properly.

My DS used to have headlice too. And that was during winter!
During that time, I found that using heat treatment on his hair and scalp worked. Perhaps the headlice over in the north are different from the tropical ones.
