Appreciate if anyone can share for SMPS, balloting at phase 2C is for SC/PR and distance from home in 2017.

For 2017, all SCs who applied, had successfully enrolled into SMPS. And PRs who applied, those who are out of 2km needed to ballot. Hope it helps.

I am looking at SMPS for my gal next year. As a dad, I guess I am less concerned about academics/score stuffs but rather more about the christian values and all-gals culture.

Any parents can share about the environment? Please let me apologies now if I am using wrong choice of words but my top thoughts are, will it be ‘beeechy’, ‘buully’ or ‘girls gaang’ etc. or it is good environment?

I mean, all these probably exist everywhere so I just want to have a relative guage.

My wife is not from all-gals. We are clueless. But yes, we are attracted to values of SMPS - charity, patience and devotion.

Hi I just wanted to share my perspective since I was in an all-girls school for 10 years. As a dad with a precious daughter, I am sure you know the inherent benefits of sending your girl to a girls school: no contact with potential boy bullies in school.

I think whether or not the culture of the girls school is bitchy or competitive or back-stabbing (the usual concerns of parents), depends a lot on the principal, who sets the tone for the whole school. I can’t verify for SMPS since I don’t have any kids there. If the P encourages collaboration and empathy, helping the weaker classmates etc, then any girl bullying will be quite minimal and confined to only a few stubborn characters.

Conversely, if the culture is highly competitive (a certain secular girls school with dark blue pinafore comes to mind) and me-first mentality without regard for fellow classmates, then the bitchy mean girl behavior would be more prevalent.

Whatever it is, I think if u weigh being in a girls school and encountering girl bullying, it would be far less damaging than being in a co-ed school and encountering violent or hormonal Pre-teen boy bullies.

Just my view.

Apr18 wouldn't hv enough days to let u clock 40hrs. Pls call Sally (Ops Mgr) again for the exact start date and ask for more days in April and May instead of once a week.

Same thing happened to me. I counted that it's impossible to fulfil 40 hours (40 days)from end Apr to end May. So I gave up doing PV.

Dear parents, I am looking to send my daughter to SMPS next year. I heard there are few enrichment activities after school hour for P1 student. May I ask how many of them, how long, and how much does it cost per program? Are these programs interesting? I am trying to think about the logistics arrangement as we are planning to send my girl to school in the morning and considering either schoolbus or ask helper to fetch her back after school. Thanks.

Hi, anyone keen to carpool from Tampines to St Margaret’s? Apparently my daughter is not favored amongst the girls who takes the school cus and the bus aunty is constantly giving my daughter sarcastic remarks. This makes my daughter dreadvgoing to school via bus everyday. On top of that, she arrives early and leaves before the time given to us, time given to us was 540am but if she doesn’t see my daughter by 537am, she will just leave. When we call her to come back, she scolds us early in the morning (what a good way to start your day…) and drives recklessly. I don’t know how many times my daughter has informed me that the bus almost got into an accident. Tried talking to the bus company but they said they will investigate, nothing else done. I doubt other girls will give any bad comments about the bus aunty considering how she gives them sweets, snacks, etc.

It's sad to know your gal has to go through this. If the bus company is not doing anything, maybe can get help from the principal?
