        Tianzhu, your expert comment please

        Hi

So paiseh, I am no expert. The old timers in KSP will know that I am a victim of circumstances. A poor man with shallow pockets who is unable to send his boy for additional classes. As you know, classes specializing in answering higher order question do not come cheap.

So, I am forced to read up to play the goalkeeper’s role in case my boy needs help. My answers are not always correct, so read them with your eyes wide open.I am grateful to ChiefKiasu for giving me freedom in his forum to post my less than desirable answers.I am learning much from this forum.

        Best wishes

Necessity is the mother of invention, or maybe father as you have proved. You made urself the solution to ur problem 🙂
i have found this forum very useful , wish i had discovered it at least last year. And find your answers/solutions very sensible, and ur practical approach is worth the praise.
As far as enrichment classses go, they are not 20% as good as a parent invlovement - i mean 2 hrs a week is just that 2 hrs- how much can you cram, stimulate a child within that time?? It just adds to one more thing a child need to pack into her week. But then being Kiasu - we put them thru the hastle. Sigh!

        And yes thank you, tianzhu!

Tianzhu, you are truly, truly very modest. Your answers, how could you call them less than desirable?! You have explored the depths of the problem deeper than anyone I know, and, though your answers may sometimes be wrong (one in a billion chance), we always know that you will come right to the rescue and make your problem accurate for us. You, actually are one of the role models of mine. I endeavour to be as smart, yet modest as you. You help, asking for nothing in return, and we benefit from you. :hugs:

I feel very proud to know such a modest, yet profoundly excellent and smart man, and, when you say that you are reading up just so you can teach your son, I feel very humbled, to be talking to a man with such a big heart, who spends his time, instead of doing his own thing, reading up to help his son. I am sure anyone would be proud to have a father like you.

Though you say you are learning a lot from KSP, I can assure you that we are also learning a lot from you.... 🙂

Hope to talk to you soon.

          Regards,
          Muffins.

              Hi all,

              This Nanyang SA2 Q10.

Animals such as antelope and deer live in groups. This is one of the behavioural adaptations of the animals to help them survive better in the grassy plains of Africa.

Which of the following explains how living in herds help these types of animals to increase the chances of survival on the grassy plains ?

              A. Animals move together to look for food.
B.These animals, when in groups can attack their predators.
C.The animals in their own group warn each other when they sense danger and move together.
D.Predators, intimidated by their great number, will not attack them when they are in their groups.

              (1) A and B only
              (2) A and C only
              (3) A, B and C only
              (4) B, C and D only

Worksheet answer is (2). Can anyone pls explain. TIA.

Hi fudgemum, at first, you would think that the answer should include the 4th one, but look closely at the question? They will not survive only on GRASSY PLAINS only if D is included, but anywhere. B is not included because they do not usually attack their predator, rather, they run away from it....

                  Hi Muffins,

Thanks a lot for your reply. Yes. We were confused because of option D.

Some more clarification in the same paper.

                  1. Need an explanation for Q 24.
                  2. Is the answer correct for Q 30.

                  TIA.

                    Hi Muffins,

Option C is also not a must for grassy plains and it can be anywhere. C is also somewhat like D. Is it because the best possible answer is 2. Thank you once again

                        Hi fudgemum

I’ll take Q30 first. The key point here is both objects are on resting on the table. Hence option (1) is offside.

From the view from the top, we can tell that the objects are two square cubes of different sizes. Fig 2 and 3 show possible 3D pictorial shapes. I suggest you form two different cubes using Lego blocks or used boxes so that your child can see a clearer picture.

Option (4) is out as it shows the side elevation of a triangular prism and a small cube.

Option (3) is the right answer.

                        Best wishes
