      mummyxoxo:
Just curious, does anyone have any idea of the pay range for fresh graduate in big 4 and in stat board (accounting related)? From what I heard, big 4 starting pay is $2.9k. Isn't this much lower than the median pay for fresh graduate nowadays?

Yes, Big 4 has a lower starting pay of between $2.7k to $3k depending on your class of honours. However, their salary increment is very fast as the review is held very often and each jump can be a few hundred.

My friend started at $2.7, 1.5 years later he is getting $4k.

Just to add, during my time many years ago, most of us used the Big 4 as the stepping board. think it is still the same…

What’s the difference between the accountancy courses offered by NUS, NTU, SMU ?

For NUS it’s together with a business administration degree right ?

            Same for NTU ?

For accountancy alone which of the 3 schools is the best ?

I guess studying accounting does not necessarily translate to working in an accounting role/firm? There are alot of different roles which suits an accountancy graduate. The financial skills will be useful in a bank, in a company, in various financial institutions or even in the civil service. Taken from that macro perspective, then yes, there will be long term demand for accountancy graduates.
