Neighborhood schools only. I have typed out the list of 12 primary schools for this year 2018 registration:

      1. Blangah Rise Primary
      2. Dazhong Primary
      3. Farrer Park Primary
      4. Frontier Primary
      5. Northoaks Primary
      6. Punggol Green Primary
      7. Punggol View Primary
      8. Riverside Primary
      9. Sengkang Green Primary
      10. Springdale Primary
      11. West Spring Primary
      12. Westwood Primary
inside above list of 12 primary schools, schools like Blangah Rise, Dazhong, Farrer park are not popular. They usually have a lot of vacancies left, under Phase 3.

in the West, Frontier primary is popular.

may we know which are the more popular schools, in North East area ?

Are they giving 50% vacancies for up to 2a2?

There is no such percentage reserved.

U need to calculate like this: Total X number of vacancies per school.

Minus 20 seats reserved for 2C. Minus another 20 seats reserved for 2B.

Minus Phase 1 seats taken up by Y number of kids with siblings already in the school.

Minus Z number taken up by 2A1.

The remainder will be for 2A2.

I can predict maybe those in the northeast or far west of the island...*may* be oversubscribed at phase 2A2. Newer schools may have fewer alumni competing with you.

I doubt it will be oversubscribed.
MK cohort size is much smaller than the school’s P1 intake and not everyone in the batch would want to go to the affiliated primary school.

How does this MK kindergarten ruling work ?

Suppose at N2 (4 year old), parents signed up a toddler, to study at MK kindergarten, X.

3 years later, after going througg N2, K1 and K2 (6 year old) graduation -
can this child then enrol into any of those 12 primary schools listed Above, or this child can only enrol into that one & only one affliated primary school, in which that MK kindergarten X is specifically affliated to ?

Only affiliated to that one primary school that is in the same campus/compound (co-located). It’s not a buffet of all 12 choices.

The K in MK refers to Kindergarten. MK only hold classes for K1 and K2.

I dont think that will ever happen. MOE is trying to dilute/eradicate the elitism enclaves that have been entrenched in the popular schools. Hence the reservation of places in phase 2C for “outsiders”.

This move for affiliation into government neighborhood schools...I see it as driving some demand into the chronically undersubscribed schools (eg Blangah Rise and Farrer Park). For the northeast, I believe they have the stance that there are plenty of other new neighborhood schools in the Punggol/Sengkang region to absorb these kids if balloted out.
Luckily, Nanyang kindergarten isn't inside the above list of 12 primary schools, affliated to MK.

                    imagine the crazy Frency :-
parents can queue / camp overnight just to enrol their (K1, K2 ) kids into Nanyang kindergarten, to enjoy affliation to Nanyang primary school under phase 2A2, if Nanyang kindergarten were to be inside this list of MK. Then, throwing all students inside phase 2A2 to ballot.

Let's hope Nanyang kindergarten will Never get to be inside this list of MK, forever.

Does anyone know MK takes in how many K2 kids per year?

                      TIA

20 kids per class. 2 sessions per day.
Number of classes vary from centre to centre.
