The only SHHK school that still accept PV is Chong Fu.
Ai Tong, Nan Chiau, Tao Nan and Kong Hwa do not accept PV anymore. So, it may not be easier (or even possible) to go through PV route than through SHHK.
It's not just the number of hours clocked, the tenure of the membership is just as important. If you are only a member for < 3 years, I suspect the odds are not in your favour.

I guess i am a bit kiasu ah. my girl is only 2 years old right now.

2 years is good, you stand a stronger chance.

But you are not kiasu, those would have started when the kid is still swimming in mummy’s tummy.[/quote]thanks. is there anyone who can help recommend us to SHHK? you may drop me an email at [email protected]

Cannot, as far as I know. It follows the father’s bloodline. It is stated clearly on your birth cert which dialect group you are. If stated Teochew then you cannot join.

              Hi All,

I’m looking to apply to SHHK. I read one of the condition is to prove I’m an ethnic Chinese whose ancestry can be traced to Fujian Province. May I know how do members prove that?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Oh I re-read the terms and conditions and it appears that my birth cert stating that im hokkien will suffice. 😂

                    Hi,

I noticed that there are only a few schools affliated to the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan
(http://www.shhk.com.sg/affiliated-schools/). How about the other primary schools that are affliated to other Hokkien clans? How do we join those specific Hokkien clans?

                        Dear all,

I will be praying hard for wisdom to make a decision on this but in the meanwhile, please feel free to give me you inputs/comments on this. I am an alumni from Mayflower Primary School (Ang Mo kio) and both my wife and I are members of a Methodist church. We have 3 kids (2 girls and a boy) and my daughter is due for P1 registration next year, 2019. My Wife and I are contemplating if we should register for Methodist girls school phase 2b, > 2km, Paya Lebar phase 2b or CHIJ St nicks phase 2c, less than 1KM (has the intention to relocate to Ang Mo Kio). Love to hear your advice.
