Hi, anyone keen to carpool from Tampines to St Margaret’s? Apparently my daughter is not favored amongst the girls who takes the school cus and the bus aunty is constantly giving my daughter sarcastic remarks. This makes my daughter dreadvgoing to school via bus everyday. On top of that, she arrives early and leaves before the time given to us, time given to us was 540am but if she doesn’t see my daughter by 537am, she will just leave. When we call her to come back, she scolds us early in the morning (what a good way to start your day…) and drives recklessly. I don’t know how many times my daughter has informed me that the bus almost got into an accident. Tried talking to the bus company but they said they will investigate, nothing else done. I doubt other girls will give any bad comments about the bus aunty considering how she gives them sweets, snacks, etc.

Apologies for the rant, I am just very frustrated. Kindly pm me if anyone is keen to carpool!

It's sad to know your gal has to go through this. If the bus company is not doing anything, maybe can get help from the principal?

Report to the Principal, to look into this matter.

Principal have the authority, to choose and decide who to be the school bus vendor, for St Margaret primary.

            Hi all

Understand the school is going to move to an interim school in 2020… any chance the interim school is made closer to the current school? The currently allocated school is quite far… any parents have any suggestion on this. The commute is going to take an additional 1 hr or so I think…
            Appreciate your response

If taking school bus, you shouldn't be affected much. The mrt station is nearby.

Dear parents, I am looking to send my daughter to SMPS next year. I heard there are few enrichment activities after school hour for P1 student. May I ask how many of them, how long, and how much does it cost per program? Are these programs interesting? I am trying to think about the logistics arrangement as we are planning to send my girl to school in the morning and considering either schoolbus or ask helper to fetch her back after school. Thanks.

I think they are offered enrichment like bowling, tennis etc... That they can sign up for. Different rates for the different activities.

It’s already confirmed the holding location is at Macpherson Primary school.

The Principal didn’t conduct a dialogue w parents, only sent a generic memo to make this announcement suddenly.

We, parents are caught off guard cos we are totally in the dark & never have a clue SMPS will move to an interim place which is so off from its current central location.
Wouldn’t have register to SMPS if we know about this move. Felt very cheated.

The Principal didn’t reply parents’ emails on this issue. Only tasked teachers to repeat the same info printed in the generic memo via calls. The PTA leaders also repeat the same way. It’s worse than getting standard voice recordings. Totally no room for discussion.

SMPS is right in the central of Singapore, hence students come from all parts of the island. As such, the new location may a bit off for some. It is hard to find an alternative/available holding site that is as centrally located as its current site.

Teacher who called me, mentioned this plan has been ongoing since 2011. Why didn't SMPS inform parents in advance b4 they enrol into SMPS?

MacPherson Pri shouldn't be the ONLY location available. Its proximity to the red light district (Geylang) also pose a very real concern esp this is an all girls' school.
