Interesting topic :
5.30 am – wake up to pre-prepare dinner

Like Mincy, I am still Zzzzzzz

I am lucky enough to have a MIL to help look after my boy (21mths old) in the weekday nites so my sleep was not being disturbed from 12pm-7am

7am - 7.45am. in between this timing, I still manage to steal 5-10mins bonding time with my boy while my elder gal (4.5 yrs) is still snoring in her sleep.
7.45am - off to work

6.30pm -7pm. Back Home.

7pm-8pm . \"Drag\" my kid for showers and patiently feeding them dinner.

8.15pm - 9.00pm. Once my gal observed I am done with my dinner, she will pester me for drawing session. While the gal draws and colors her favorite princess characters occassioally with mummy as the queen  my boy adds in the \"mess\" by scribbling around on a pc of paper.

9pm-9.30pm. Maths / English (picking up learning tips from Tamarind's and Bud's / Silly things / Fun activities with the kids)

9.30pm -9.45pm. Settle boy to sleep

9.45pm-10.30pm. Read books or play monopoly games or chitchat with gal

11.30pm....Zzzzzzzz

So I guess I have 3 hrs (inclusive shower / feeding time) with my kids.
Here's my quality time schedule with my K2

Weekends - we almost do everything together ie bkfast, grocery shopping, cleaning, meeting family/friends etc

Weekdays - i treasure those short walk/drive to & fro CC (5 mins/day), play - mostly Q&A time (15 mins/day) but my favourite activity is to snuggle with him in the bed before sleeptime and chat (15-30 mins)

After enrichment classes in the morning they will spend time on the following:

Lunch
Go to the library to pick up new books
Reading
Polish their own school shoes and mop the floor
Cycling (they have recently mastered cycling on 2-wheel bike so they are crazy about cycling now)
Badminton (also one of their latest pursuits)
Swimming or visit grands
Dinner
Grocery shopping on alternate week
Before bedtime - do abit of assessment

As a working mum, I try to find every spare minutes to spend time with my kids. I wake up 5 ish (morning) preparing them for school & me for work. Not much quality time in the morning cause everyone’s rushing. Afternoon, I skip lunch to pick them up & have a good chit chat while driving them back home or to my mum’s place. That’s a good 30 minutes of chit chatting.

I reach home about 5.30pm & while I’m attacking laundry & preparing dinner, they either chit chat or ask for assistance in tackling their homework. I don’t count that as quality time as I’m forever flitting from one task to another.

Official sit down, talk, helping with revision, read books is around 8pm to 10 pm. My time for them is undivided.

I love Friday the most cause, we eat out, homework & revision can wait till the weekends. It’s the chill out time. It’s out for dinner & rent a dvd to watch as a family. We usually sleep together in the entertainment room. They love it too & say it’s just like a camping trip. Haiz as if they ever experience what outdoor camping is like.

Hi.....as a FTWM, its not easy to have so much time with my children....

Weekdays
6am - wake up and get ready for work, provided by DS or DD haven't woken yet.....else I'll attend to them first
6.15am - make milk for the children, prepare their morning fruits
6.45am - wake DS up, so he can be in time for school..brush teeth, toilet, etc
7.30am - send DS to CC, leaving DD at home with MIL. We chit-chat all the way to school and after I drop him off, then I'll make my way to meet my DH where I leave my car (season parking) and ride (motorbike) into town with him.
In the mornings, if the children are up early, we'll have some tumble-around time or cuddle-time, depending on their moods.
I'll chat a bit with my DH everytime we stop at traffic lights, telling him about the morning with the kids, etc.
6pm - try to leave office by then, if not earlier...!
6.30pm - get my car from carpark and drive home
6.45pm - feed DS, if he hasn't had dinner yet or bathe him if he's already eaten. This is dependent on when my FIL goes and fetches him home from CC. MIL and DD usually goes along for the ride! MIL feeds DS once he gets home while FIL plays with DD.
7.30pm - storytime for the kids. Prior to that, I'll try to have dinner, if the maid has finished preparing....if not, I'll just play with my children.
8.30pm - milktime and settle to sleep. Once my children had their bottle of milk each, its time to settle them to sleep. Somedays, it takes 10mins; other days, as long as 1 hour!!
9.30pm - I can do my own thing now, either eat dinner/bathe/sleep/etc...

Notice my DH a bit absent? Cos he's not always home early, so sometimes he joins us. Sometimes he will \"participate\" in all the evening activities, and sometimes he'll miss out altogether. But mornings are my time with my children.....cos my DH doesn't wake so early in the mornings...he's up around 7.45am or later and just gets to play with DD a little before he needs to head out to meet me and go to office together.

So I really treasure my mornings....!

its always a struggle for me to manage the time between work and spending time with the kids.

by the time i reach home in the evening, and after shower and dinner, its not much time left with the kids. plus difficult to spread time among the 3 of them.

and sometimes i am dead beat myself from the whole day’s work, and i have not much energy left to do things with the kids.

so now i am still trying to find the balance. still struggling.
