good illustration with a real example.

(I did not follow the numbers closely..... luckily you did.)

      Lexy:
      firstda:
To be precise, the odd number goes to the next phase... which is err... Phase 2B.

No. The odd number 1 place goes to 2C after the end of 2A2.

However, if during the 2B registration and anyone withdraw from the place allocated due to the earlier phase. The withdrawal seats will go to 2B.

Hope it clarify the doubt that sometime you see more places in 2B than 2C.

This theory can be easily proven.

take Jing Shan or Mayflower as example.

      Jing Shan - Take up till 2A2 - 97 - left over for 2B and 2C was 150-97 = 53 - at the start of 2B, available slot was 27
      Mayflower - Take up till 2A2 - 59 - left over for 2B and 2C was 180-59 = 121 - at the start of 2B, available slot was 61

so after 2A2, the odd spot goes to 2B.

The 2nd part of your point on withdrawal
      - it is still shared amongst 2B and 2C.for example, Maha Bodhi withdrawal during 2B was 4, two of the four was added to 2B and the other two was to 2C.

And the allocation depends on if there is odd number in the first place. for example Holy innocent, at the end of 2A2, 217 registered, left over 53 - start if 2B - 27 available (2C was 26), at the end of the 2B phase total reported number for 2A2 becomes 214 (3 withdrawal), and total available for 2B became 28 and at the start of 2C, spots available is 28.

So if even number sharing of 2B and 2C, during 2B, first withdrawal will go to 2B, the next will go to 2C, and this continue to alternate.
If the odd number sharing, the odd one goes to 2B first but the first withdrawal will go to 2C, there after will alternate with 2B.

Trust the above clarifies although it seems like a mad scientist calculation. :rotflmao:
Fern Green, Evergreen and Punggol Cove - balloting within 1km. Still tough eventhough staying near... 😓

They could decide to take the additional seats given its not too big a number. But its really case by case basis & there is no hard & fast rule too 🙂 whether it is principal sch board or anyones decision we won’t know too

                Montfort Jr has 39 seats - 5 (1km) 23 (1-2km) 13 (2km)

Over by 2 but Admin said all are in which means additional 2 seats 🙂 the sch has never been oversubscribed in any phase before 🙂

                good luck to all parents

                Montfort Junior:
                46 applicants for 41 seats.
I'll take what an admin says with a pinch of salt and wait for the official MOE announcement

                Montfort Junior School:
Balloting will be conducted for SC children residing outside 2km of the school.

There you go. Can’t and won’t absorb extra applicants.

In a way, it makes sense to ballot if you are within 1km of these schools. e.g. If you miss out on the ballot for Fern Green (71 for 60), it’s not hard to move to Fernvale (73 for 95) and get accepted before Phase 3, while staying within 1 or 2 km. Likewise, those who miss the ballot for Punggol Cove can head for Oasis.

Those who managed to secure a place in your 2CS school, congrats! You can finally relax and go celebrate this weekend.

Those who be undergoing balloting, good luck for your SMS result on 21 August!

I do not know if MOE will update the schools with vacancies left (and exactly how many seats left) on 21 August. But if anyone needs the calculation in order to make their 3 choices, just shoot me a request here. I have the records.

CHIJ Katong left with 9 vacancies but balloting for more than 2km…

Cannosa Catholic no balloting for SC and PR!

                      This is indeed weird.

Those who are going for balloting should screenshot this page: https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies

Will be helpful when you need to make the mad scramble before Phase 3.
