2018 P1 registration exercise for 2019 intake
-
Hi, may I know if the ballot results for 2018 P1 registration is out? Only see 2017 one. I need to know abt SAJS phase 2C. Did all the <1 km registrants get in? Also for parents who just registered your kids in any primary schools, did the forms indicate that you’re in a rental or home owner? THanks!

I guess if u keep calling the sch will \"remember\" u and maybe can skip a few queue numbers? Just an assumption.sillygal_1608:
May I ask is it common to follow up calls to school after submitting waiting list and after phase 2C?
Hi sillygal_1608,
i guess there's no hard and fast rule and its up to the individual on whether you wish to call the school periodically to check. for me, l I tried calling up before i apply for 2CS (with a glimmer of hope) and got disappointed.
I will try calling again perhaps in NOV with another glimmer of hope. -

I called up my choice school\\ today after receiving an email from the new school on pre-orientation admin exercise, also no one withdraw as of today.

Asking your opinion what will u all do if the waitlist sch calls up in Mid Jan or Feb or in the middle of the semester 2019? Will u all disrupt your child and switch? Not taking into account the uniform and textbooks as those are not expensive, but the emotional concerns of the child. -
I guess it depends on how well your child has settled in to the school by then. Made a lot of close friends already or not. Love the form teacher or not. And even if she has, sometimes the transfer school may be really worth it to switch to (only you can gauge this for yourself I think).
Personality of the child plays a part too. For boys, probably those who are mildly autistic or very high-stability type of personality - will not cope well with major changes. For girls, probably those who are very sociable and love their current friends a lot - hard for them to break away from them and transfer out. -

I agree that there is no hard and fast rule for waitlisted schools to provide any good news before that start of Term 1. It is interesting to ask if people are interested in the waitlisted schools after their kids have already started in their assigned schools and I suspect that the answer depends on \"how long\" before that waitlisted school calls. If its within a month, I think most parents will go for their desired school, but once its into the regular term I think most parents would rather stay in the assigned school. I may be wrong, but that would be how I feel. -

supposing the waitlisted school has affiliation, I feel it is worth to transfer when there is a vacancy.
