No mid year exams for P3, P5 , Sec 1 and Sec 3 going forward:

My DC2 said this is a silly moves for P5 woah. Exam is to gauge how much they have understood with respect examination component. I also agreed. Some school don't have CA1 and CA2 at P5 and now with SA1 removes.....I dare not think. Suddenly has a rude shock at SA2? 😂

The bite-sized forms of assessments to gauge their pupils' learning is also quite ridiculous as well, IMO. Too easy. Not a real reflection to the main papers.

      I agree. I rather have P5 SA1 too.

thanks, been trying to tell him same thing, but he still insists that he is going to score low. He is sleeping now, hopefully when wake up will feel better 🕺

Just give short answers then move on when he talks about this paper. Show him that you are focused on helping him with the next few papers. Then he will also move on instead of brooding over this. Score low or score high ... will only know in November and there's nothing to be done about it now.

Agree. Must help him overcome that negative feeling. When my child did hv such feelings, I recognized he just wanna be competitive. But I just gave a hug that whatever his results, Que Sera Sera, impt is I saw how much effort was put in & that's good enuf for me. Just lots of love & hugs to comfort & pat pat yr child to move on.

There's more in life to face challenges of different sorts. Cannot just brood & not move on. As yr child learn to overcome his feelings, he'll acquire better mastery in life.

Hi parents! I am new to this website, my friend just introduced to me. For PSLE, if my daughter gets 95 for math, 84 for chinese, 92 for english, and 90 for science, do you think she will get 26+ for PSLE? Thats her target now, she's hoping to get 260

Hi, I'm using my girl's own experience to calculate. I multiply the total of four subjects by 0.75(optimistic calculation, pessimistic is 0.72). Checked with her school on her T score(didn't indicate in report book) , she scored 5 marks higher than my calculation. Maybe she is in the second best class but she is not from a top school. Hence if I tried applying this on your girl, she should be able to get at least 260, unless the whole nation cohort performs very well. Hope this helps.
