Personally, I feel that today’s Chinese oral topic’s questions are very open-ended and allows pupils to 自由发挥。

      Day 1 Chinese Oral

      Q1 你喜欢录像中的学习方式吗?为什么?

      Q3 除了课堂学习,你还可以做什么来取得新知识?

      Q2 你有上过好玩有趣的课吗?

The common psle Chinese oral topics like 保护环境清洁、种族和谐、体育活动、乐于助人、垃圾分类、不轻易放弃、勇敢正直,家庭和谐、自理能力、烤肉会that were so called “spot the questions and memorise answers did not appear today.

Most likely for tomorrow, it will be one of those above-mentioned topics. Good luck !

        hi chen lao shi,

is today CL topic considered hard ?

tomorrow CL topic, will it be harder or easier, based on today topic, because someone earlier commented, \"one day easy, next day hard\" ?

today EL topic (Library) is considered ... easy
The one day/year easy one day/year difficult saying is a myth in my opinion - at least for CL (can have a look at the past year papers and topics).

Instead, it’s usually like one day school related topic, one day public places related for the old picture oral conversation and for the new video format, the 3 major categories are
        - Moral values(见义勇为、诚实etc)
        - School life (课外活动、校内庆典etc)
        - Social issues (节省资源、保护环境etc)

As for whether this year’s Day 1 CL topic is tough, I would say it’s not. I believe most students/parents think so because the topic is not the ones that are commonly practiced for (ie moral values)

Reasons why I think this topic should be considered manageable:
        1. The students have first hand experience with regard to the different types of learnings
        2. This topic does not involve difficult words/phrases (nouns/verbs) unlike say environment friendly issue which may involve terms like global warming, biodegradable, styrofoam etc.

With the change in format of oral conversation from picture to video, the focus is shifted towards critical thinking, analysis and expressing of views - from the detailed narration and ‘stereotype’ opinions regarding the rights and wrongs of each action.

I see, FHP. Then yes, still have chance. 转向问题 are meant to this aspect of the marking rubric: 能够参与对话和持续地交流. Chances are the examiners wanted to decide between awarding the higher or lower end of a particular tier or deciding between one tier and another.

Ya tough... I know my girl didn't do well. Before her were all the Higher Chinese Students who are good in Oral. Come to her, examiners must be wondering why std dropped. 😂 Passage wise, she says OK but not for the video...She didn't prepare for this topic.

Her examiners, one was stern and the other smiley face.
                      hi tryourbest,

curious ... does your class group the students by index number, or group them according to their Chinese results, for Chinese Oral group ?
in my school, some classes group by index number (the normal way), while other P6 classes group them by powerful Chinese results together

My DS mentioned that the topic is not within what they expect. They have practice many topics in school but this is not even close

actually very hard to prepare for Oral, anything can come out under the sun

Yesterday, kid spent so much time reading up some cut up newspaper articles on current affair, but none of the topics prepared came out today. And library, never even prepare at all ... came out unexpectedly.

In Primary school, they usually ask questions that are closely related to their lives. Good to link current affairs but only if it applies to the qn. They like to ask about school/neighbourhood/friends/cleaning the house/teachers/things u do/healthy lifestyle. Library was a common prelim question a couple of years ago.

His current affairs revision won't go to waste. Will be useful when he does argumentative essays in sec sch and u do require a lot of such knowledge for O levels oral.
