Yes . I agreed very heartache. I came home from work saw my son doing school Chinese paper while taking dinner . I guess they know that not enough time . No time to revise prelim too . Sigh !
My DD school hasn't started giving the past PSLE papers to practice. I also haven't started giving cos the top school papers also cannot finish liao. Can sense the atress level in my DD. I think need to give the kids a break. Very heartache to see them so stressed out. -

this coming September holiday is very precious, your child is better off, doing self-revision at home
Hi,
Wld like to get some advice, anyone here sending their kiddo to any Sept PSLE Intensive Revision Classes. Any recommendation. Thank in advance.
I dont believe in this last minute intensive revision stuff. Chances are these organizers, for the sake of $ profit, try to cramp and arrange intensive 9 am to 5 pm kind of stuff. They are just out, to make $. Dont be fooled by their marketing gimmick, like advertising, \"Hurry ! Last few seats left !\"
Ask ourselves honestly, even we as adult after 2 hours, our brain kind of drift off, can't concentrate anymore. What more, for a child under so much stress preparing for psle ? Do you really think that the child's mind can absorb so many hours, from 9 am to 5 pm ? After 2 hours, probably can't focus anymore, mind drift off, wasting $
If child go for Intensive Revision class, easily more than half a day is gone, may not even benefit much.
Then before u know it, one day one day time fly by so quickly, oops, September holiday is over, time to face PSLE.
jiayou, persevere on, we don't have much time left, less than 6 weeks to go! -
Not all intensive courses are good or helpful. Especially if your child isn’t used to that tutor, and taking that class for the first time. Tutor also won’t know your child’s background or areas of weakness. Hard to reap much benefit from the class. I know there are a lot of sponsored posts o FB, Instagram for revision classes. Some even say, by popular demand, last run, limited seats etc. Parents must be discerning.
Maths - I think revise and practice on your own. When not sure, ask school teacher, ask forum, or ask the PSLE FB group. People will respond.
Science - Maaaybeee, kid might benefit from attending a class where they revise key words and concepts and common mistakes.
Chinese - Our tuition centre has revision class. So I signed up. Cos she is used to the teacher. And they revise very efficiently. Better than what I can do at home. Otherwise if parent can manage, just practice papers.
English - I don’t believe at all, that any class at this stage will help with composition writing, grammar or vocabulary much. Better off to read up and practice at home. Maybe only if the revision class focuses on comprehension techniques, and S&T then it might help. But then do you really need a class for that?
Going to class takes a lot of travelling time too. I think just help our kids to revise with what they have, practice a bit, and also balance with some relaxation. -
for Sci, any recommendation for Sep hol revision class?
I also find revision classes taking up alot of time. I m quite worry abt dd’s sci … it was very bad just before sa2 paper. I know she didn’t put much of her time on the subj. Sometimes feel she could study it on her own but sometimes feel worry. Not sure how bad it’s going to be for sa2. -
The way to go on this last stretch of the race is not to intensify the training. How much more can a child learn from 6 weeks of training compared to 6 years of learning. Continue to do papers at a moderate pace…just to keep the mind active but not to overload. Go back to basics…read science read compo…talk through some possible compo topics…talk through game plan in tackling compo…go through answering techniques…explain weak areas again…be mentally prepared for tough questions…time management…make sure all equipments are in working order…bring lucky charms haha…

I checked my recird book, dd only did prelim MA for nyps, 2016-18 is ok.
Hi any feedback on nanyang prelims in terms of level of difficulty? Thank. -
The prelim exams over and results are in. Some cried over their marks in class and they are students who perform very well. Parents, if you are reading this, please take a step back and monitor your children’s emotional aspect and your pressure on them caused them to break down in school without your knowledge. Even if parents do not give pressure, the pressure from teachers and peers can be too daunting. Take a moment to reflect fellow parents and educators.

so fast the results already started coming in!
