Is it true that school prelims are usually set easier thus may differ alot frm actual psle results?

        Hi everyone..

Hope all are fired up for the final lap

Can I ask how many hours are sufficient sleep this month assuming that kid does not like to sleep in the afternoon?
Hi hi! For my DD, I am insisting that she sleeps at the same time (10-1030pm) but she can wake up by 9am for this week hols (she doesn’t nap in the afternoons). She must get down to revision from 10am onwards. I worry that sleeping late at night will mess up her body clock, and less sleep will lower her immunity. On school days she wakes up by 6.15am. Just my thoughts, hope it helps 😁 Jia you everyone! πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ’ͺ🏼 16 more days! 😬😬😬😬

                hi chenlaoshi,

for students to study Secondary Chinese literature, 文言文, like \"δΈ‰εœ‹ζΌ”ηΎ©\" or \"孫子兡法\", may we know what's the criteria like ? must the P6 student score minimum grade A (75 to 100) in PSLE \"Standard\" Chinese, or minimum a \"Pass\" in PSLE \"Higher\" Chinese ? Thank you

Hi phtthp, St Nicks Secondary used to offer Chinese literature as an O level subject during my time, not sure about now but I believe this subject is still around.

Chinese lit is accepted as one of the compulsory humanities in the L1R5 for entry into JC. We had half our class taking a subject combi of triple science + Geography, the other half taking triple science + Chinese lit. During Chinese lit lessons, they would go to another classroom to combine with another 20 girls (their combi was double Science + History + Chinese lit). I dunno what criteria of CL grades they had to meet in Sec 2, but mostly it was due to interest and they chose this subject combi during Sec 2 when submitting the form. The interest must be there. Other than that, it is extremely easy to score if you can memorize all the sample answers (according to my seatmate, the O level qns were quite predictable - just regurgitate and score A1!)

I thought C Lit is an upper sec subject. Why would the eligibility criterion trace back to PSLE.

i see, because thought they looked at both end of Sec 2 Chinese results, plus also your past PSLE results combined, not just EOY Sec 2 results alone

Not sure, but i would imagine that if it is an upper sec subject, and if ere is any eligibility criteria, it would not trace back to PSLE. It is like whether they let you take pure science or combined science in upper sec, they cannot be tracing back to PSLE science grade, , most likely they will just look at lower sec science grade.
