Sorry to interrupt. Just wondering, are the 2018 (last year's) PSLE papers considered easy or difficult? I notice the scores seem somewhat 'depressed' last year, at the higher end.

Generally easier maybe that’s why SD is depressed and more narrow score range.

i thot if SD is smaller, the higher end will see better T-score?
“Better” t-score but narrower range. Hence, very difficult to see high t-score at the higher end of the spectrum.

T-score is a normalized result. Hence, it may not be a “better” score if everyone else is having high raw scores.

my DD wrote Cheers. but her schoolmates from the top 2 P6 classes told her they put Your Sincerely.
hence she was wondering if she is wrong

2019 PSLE Maths paper 1 is challenging and those high-ability students in Maths should find it manageable.

Out for recess.
wow, then it's true tat this year is a challenging exam for piggies.... my DD school's math prelim paper 1 was very easy, even the 4th or 5th class got many who scored 42-45 for paper 1...i think they got a rude shock this morning :gloomy:

My two kids took PSLE in 2017 and 2018. I noticed the 2017 scores are very spread out, and high scores are very high. The 2018 batch scores are more bunched up, with high scores seemingly depressed. The top PSLE score for my kids’ school, was 10 points lower in 2018 than 2017.

I didn’t compare the level of difficulty of papers between the two years though. Just grateful that PSLE is over for the family.

Don't forget last year was an exception to the psle where all papers ended up being a bit easier. If you look at 2016 n 2017 they were the usual more challenging papers. This year probably just gone back to that.

This year, another subject is tested impromptu. It is called “Grit”. See who will bite the bullet and continue strong and courageously till the last lap.

ya, last year was a bit \"surprised\" - paper seem much easier. i heard a lot of kids i know get \"well\"
so in the end sec sch admission Y score went up alot too
Most avg students done pretty well
Those avg and slight above avg sch for 230 to 240 range - entry T score went up to as many as 4 to 5 pts
top sch T score is not sky high - prob only very few challenge qn to CUT them out

Actually for 2018 PSLE, top school COPs remained largely the same if not mostly dropped quite substantially (for example MGS IB, NYGH - ACSI also recorded a drop I recall)
