To be exact, the 1st pioneer batch has 529 students (not 600+)
10++ pioneering EJCian, out of 600+ JC2 students, is around ... 2 % cohort
out of these 10++ EJCian pioneer 2017 batch, how many are from IP / JAE (OP) students ? All from IP ?
https://eunoiajc.moe.edu.sg/2018-alevel/ -
Slightly more than half @ NUS YLLSoM is from RI & HCI (RI approx 30+ %, HCI approx 20 %). The number from ACSI has been increasing in recent years (eg. approx 60 out of 300 are from ACSI for 2018 intake). Hence, approx 30 % comes from ‘Others’ (other JCs & institutions).
YLL’s intake for 2019 is 270. Fewer than 100 are from ‘Others’. Hence, 10+ from EJC (>10 %) is pretty impressive, in my opinion. Not forgetting, a handful may have chosen to join NTU LKCMed. And, not all students who did well chose to study Medicine in University. -

2018 A level cohort was 529.
So about 129 retained in J1. Thats many!
The current P while in SRJC was well known to retain J1.
Read extracted ST news:
\"The school now has about 440 Joint Integrated Programme students from Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School and Singapore Chinese Girls' School. Three were offered places via the Direct School Admission Exercise. On Feb 3, they will be joined by 210 students coming in through the O levels.\" -

any idea roughly, how many of these students ( YLL / NTU LKCMed) are from the other IP JCs ?

majority of these 129 EJC (1) students who got retained, to repeat JC1 -
(1)
majority of these repeat students, come from IP or JAE (OP) stream ?
from DSA students, as well as from PSLE Tscore entry students, who sat for PSLE back then in Year 2012 ?
(2)
is there any common in particular H1 or H2 subject(s), that many of them had failed in ?
If Yes, what subject(s) are these ? -
for interested 2019 Sec 4 candidates (born 2003) taking O-level this year, and are keen to study at our brand new Eunoia Junior College premises, here is the JC1 Subject combination available, in case u wish to take a look

first step, need to find out, which are the common subject(s) majority of them failed in ?
huh? so many retained kids? worrying leh.
(129 out of 529 2017 EJC (1) students)
is it compulsory H2 Maths or General paper or which Humanities subject or compulsory H2 Chemistry (for Science stream students) ?
if there is (are) certain subjects that majority of them commonly failed in, then HOD and his (her) team of teaching staff from that particular academic department need to work harder, find out what's wrong, roll up their sleeves, solve (fix) the problem
another question to find out is,
why did Principal of EJC retain them, instead of auto-push them into JC2 ?
is it because if auto-push them up to JC2, school forsee that they will only struggle even more, end up do badly in A-level, hence no choice but retain them (repeat) ? -

Indeed if its true 129 retained, its worrying.
huh? so many retained kids? worrying leh.
Why cant give 2nd chance to these kids?
Ejc teachers cant help to these weaker kids?
P not compassionate.
Maybe school thinks Ejc IP kids inside can self study so dont teach enough? -

if a JC1 or JC2 pupil struggling, what kind of help is available from the Teachers on-hand, from within (inside) EJC itself ? Do they render help to struggling students, or do they ask students to go outside look for external tuition outside to self-help ?
also, those core, key important H2 subjects like H2 (Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics) -
are the Teachers fresh graduates from MOE, or come with experience ?
Which other JCs have they taught before coming into EJC to teach ?
How many years of teaching experience have they actually taught in the same core subject, before stepping into EJC ?
