4 classes will further filter into 5 classes during Sec 3.

1 triple pure science class.
1 double pure (Chem physics)
1 double pure (Chem bio)
2 art classes.

How to qualify for Triple Science ?

A1 grade for Sec 2 (English, Maths, Science) at end of Sec 2 streaming, plus minimum 70 percent overall, including Mother tongue and combined Social studies ?

(Asking for a friend's child, interested in Xinmin)

A2 for science and 75% overall for triple science class . Which is achievable for most.

There is another 2 classes for double pure.

From Sec 3 onwards class size gets smaller.
Teacher and or student can better focus on their O level at the end of sec4.
Thanks very much, dear.

Friend's child got 23x, hope she can still get in. 23x is a good score, but when come to choosing good Secondary schools, hard (difficult)

When come to Sec 3, most impt is

- small class size group
(not those big-big 40 students per class type), and

- Good subject Teachers, to teach the core subjects that contribute towards L1R5. So the first question I always want to find out is, \"are the Teachers, good ?\"

Thank you very much, Courtly. Appreciated

Heard Xinmin is a good school, will get my friend's child to include, inside one of the choices, inside the list. Friend stay Hougang area
Meet the COP and stays in hougang choosing XMS is definitely a right choice.

Note: XMS secondary is not affiliated to xinmin primary school.

I was talking to a friend (ex St Nic mummy) and she told me quite a handful of her friends’ daughters gunning for St Nic IP and SCGS IP. Their children like Eunoia JC !! 😂 She said she was surprised.

I am not surprised : ) My daughter’s sec sch frens are all aiming for EJC, used to be just NYJC, ACJC, SAJC, RI etc Now it is literally just EJC.
I brought my son to CatHigh for a looksee. He was okok there. Then we drove passed EJC, his comments were “Woah! OMG! WTH! Siao!” lol

EJC has a nice view of the park.
VJC has a nice view of the sea.

Hi,

Any idea on how did the 2019 cohort do in Science. Seeing too few a A* in Science (here and there). There were a lot more A* in English and Maths though the papers were considered difficult and a lot of them were stunned after exiting the exam hall.

A lot of them in my DD’s class unexpectedly scored A* in English and Maths. Looked the aggregate scores were skewed towards those kids who did well in these 2 subjects.

Any knowledge on this…

Given the strong interest in direct route into EJC, will the COP for CHS IP, SNGS IP and SCGS IP going to spike up from this year? Will be interesting to see! 😄
should rise, maybe by 1 point

SCGS (IP) : go up to 253

SNGS (IP) : go up to 256 ?

Hi,

Rudimentary question. For comparison, how the 2019 cohort did overall,

1) What is the ESIS cut-off? The top one-third is based on how many independent school places? Do we include SSS, SST, SOTA etc?

2) What is the cut-off for 10% of the cohort offered Cat C third language?

Can someone who has it list down 2019 vs 2018 vs 2017?

Thanks so much..
