Pardon me if this is not the right forum to seek inputs for Mindchamp Thinking Cap Programme, but I googled and there ain’t much I could gather so thot of seeking help here...
I chanced upon Mindchamps, and got to learn about the Thinking Cap programme.
There are 3 main parts to the programme:-
1) 20 weeks programme, one session per week, per session 3hrs, total 60hrs => Ard $3K
2) Youth Challenge workshop, 3 days of total 24hrs => $1.2K
3) Confident Communicator workshop, 2.5 days, total 16hrs => $800
Mindchamps presents above as a total package, which costs ard $5K. Above cost breakdown is my estimation of the costs per the hours for each category.
I attended their complimentary talk as my daughter is transiting to Sec 1 and was introduced to the Thinking Cap programme. While I thought it sounds like a holistic programme to help my daughter to drive a champion mindset, learning mindset, and a creative mindset to learn how to learn, and take on academic challenge moving forward, I am not sure if it works the way they sell it.
I hope to gather some advice and feedbacks, be it positive or negative as that will help me to have better feel to make the right decision. It's not only financially $5K, it's also a time and effort commitment...

Hi all, may I ask about the Third Language Eligibilty, how to fill in to S1 Opt Form, as we can only choose one language from same category.. so it means, let’s say
1st choice: Japanese (Category 3),
2nd choice must be a language from Category 1 or 2
so I can’t put 2nd choice: French as it is category 3, right?
1) Japanese
2) Malay (Asian language)
But, not allowed to input

MOE might not use number of indep sch places to compute ESIS. It might be computed like this:
Assumption. Top 2% to 3% of cohort.
You will never now as MOE doesn't reveal much. You can only assume.
Assume there are ~200 IS places per school on average. Total ~2400 across 12 schools.
Top 1/3 works out to ~800 who got 261 at least.
Total cohort ~40k PSLE (2019) students.
800/40000 works out to ~2%

How u arrive at the top 2.5% for ESIS cutoff?
typically indep schools take in roughly top 10% of each cohort, and that T-score hovers around 250. By ranking the top 10% students who are SG citizens n drawing a line to demarcate the top 1/3 of this pool of students, the ESIS qualifying Tscore can be determined. -
ESIS cutoff as of 2019 is 261 from MOE. From their website,

[/quote]it's a bit confusing wat the \"2019\" refers to. Is it based on statistical data of the 2019 Sec 1 cohort? If yes, then this score of 261 has little relevance to the 2019 students who just collected their results last week. If the data is for this year's PSLE students, then how to derive the ESIS score at this point in time, given tat the posting of students to indep sch has not been done yet.
