Optimus:
I am still looking a backup school. Initially fixed but someone pointed that the PSLE passing rate is not great for that school. So, now I am still searching for another one.
Optimus,
Your backup school should be somewhere close to home.
As for PSLE passing rate not that fantastic, perhaps you can reconsider this...this not so popular school is grooming a high flier. That's why you will realize that non popular schools are producing top PSLE students of late. -
LKVM:
Optimus did u get any information about the Pioneer school :?
No, I have checked all the website and noted that most school in JW area do not show their PSLE passing rate.
Actually, Xingnan is the furthest from my parent's add. Nearer ones are
Boon lay garden pri
West Grove ( no chance, ballot required for >1km)
Jurong West Pri (no chance, ballot required for >1km)
Corporation
Pioneer
Juying
If Xingnan is good, I don't need the distance to be far but....
-
LKVM:
May I know which school is your son from? You have any comment for Juying?I Spoke to my son's teacher yesterday and she said WG has been given more importance but their curiculum is not soo good and teachers are not patient if the kids dont have basic foundation teacher wont help at all :?
According to her Pioneer is good for basic foundation classes like P1-3 teachers are very caring dunno :? -
Luanee:
I second that opinion. If you look at BTPS's PSLE results, it's consistently above nat average. Not bad for a school that's supposedly less 'popular' in the Bukit Timah area. If this sch were located within a more densely populated estate, I can guarantee that balloting will be required even for < 1km.
I have a fren who is a pri school teacher, she told me that bt timah pri sch consist mainly of those who couldnt get a place into the popular ones in that area like nyps, rgps, mgs, phps... so the standard is not that bad actually, as most of the kids there are quite good too.. It was my backup plan last time too
I think people staying around Bukit Timah are so lucky to have so many good schs to choose from. -

There are many good schools in Bukit Timah...but to be fair, there are good schools in the East too. Bukit Timah Primary used to be called Bukit Batok Primary school. My Chinese tutor from primary school used to teach in that school back then.
Not too far away, there is Keming Primary school which is HOT too.
