CCA allocation results for Sec 1s are out tomorrow! Quite a long wait... šŸ˜“

My friends' Sec 1 children in other schools have already started their CCA sessions.

Well, let's hope the wait was worth it and that the kiddos get what they hope for! :xedfingers:

I was wondering how they split the students too. I speculated that they separate those who took Higher Chinese in primary school from those who didn't. But not sure if that's accurate.

Doesn't seems to be the case as some of those who took HCL in Pri sch are also in the rainbow class. I believe the school split them according to the result of their normal CL. Whichever the case, this rainbow class is quite a norm thing. Based on the class split, I estimate that about 1/3 of the students are in it.

My gal did not take HCL in pri sch and only got A for PSLE. She said she did not leave.
She said abt half the class left. But she did say she thks that she is 1 of the 2 in the class without A* in Chi[/quote]Wow all the classmates actually shared their PSLE CL grade?

Planning a year-end vacation and I'd like to know if there is usually holiday homework / projects for students over the Dec hols?
Yes, there's homework for almost all the subjects if not all. Usually no projects. The sch may add more hw if your child does badly in the year-end examinations. Your child might need to return back to school for supplementary classes or CCA too.

                      Thank you for the info!

Guess we won't know the details of these holiday commitments till much later?

If the system of teaching is still the same as what I remember (ie teaching only one science per term), then yes, the teachers give out new notes as they progress from topic to topic. About 2-3 topics per science, so 2-3 notes each. In general the notes are usually sufficient.
