...but, never think of lock-down Tuition (enrichment) centre, 5 weeks (27 /3 to 30 /4)
Actually, an acquaintance running a tuition centre (Bukit Timah area) had anticipated & started creating online content since early Term1...

After hearing and reading more abt the budget, I feel fortunate that we are not as directly affected as those who may lose their jobs or already have. Many do suffer pay cuts. Yet, all citizens are given some form of cash payouts, esp those w kids.

I guess I consider using it to pay for these interruptions and pray hard that this situation will end soon for everyone.

Jobs will be lost. Bzness will be folded esp those small unsustainable ones depending on tourism bucks. It’s also what I think investors will call a “correction” time esp for those who had highly feared themselves with increasingly unsustainable mortgage loans. Yikes!! :nailbite:

Hope ppl knows where to find resources or know when to scale down. Of course, there will be ppl waiting just for this opportunity but we nvr know when this storm will subside or looms into a bigger tornado!

Hope those suffering pay cuts hv family buffers like our national reserves. In fact, I overheard a conversation btwn 2 who to maneuver out of their team to save their jobs. So sad, we’ve to come to this state. Hope their bosses look at them as a team rather then cut arms & limbs. But reality can be harsh.

😓 I am so busy printing tuition notes now! They are really a lot, no joke!! How come ink catridges are so expensive now? 1 black 1 colour is almost $100.
For normal printing maybe you can try a more economical option; Epson L3110 Eco Tank series.
Printer plus 4xink bottles cost approx $230

E learning make working mum busy
Must print own notes or go center collect learning packs
the “ upsetting “ part is most centers did not give options - to let kids temp stop n tuition fees did not cut a lot - I feel should reduce at least 40% , ideal is 50 to me . But most center reduce like 20% only ...
Yes, at least there should be 40% to 50% discount for e-learning plus an option to opt out. My P2 is blur like Sotong how to e-learn.

Many are still keeping quiet about it. You don’t ask then they just pretend.

I am still waiting for Writers at Work to get back!

Agree, paying full fees to be a guinea pig? (an overhead comment)... My secondary school kid (this week) did a dry run of (some kinda) webex (Microsoft) with school teachers... Laptops, computers & mobile phones all experience lag (sound quality + volume were fine). Older kids know how to resolve/ overcome the tech issues themselves, still not so bad... Younger ones are a headache, especially when no trial practice.

                      Other main points:

                      - CCAs further suspended till the end of Term 2 (previously suspended for 2 weeks only)

                      - SYF is cancelled (previously suspended until further notice)

the critical students are the ones graduating from Psle / O-level / A-level, this year.

                        Since after school activities are
cancelled in Term 2, better for these students, as they can now have more time to concentrate & prepare for National exam.

SYF prep is very time consuming. Relief !
