With an affiliated sec school vs no affiliation. Otherwise, same same. Unless you are in the earlier phase (Such as Phase 2A), you will have to be within 2km of the schools to stand a chance for balloting in Phase 2C.

Can someone help advice? Many thanks.
Assuming we are allocated St Stephen under Phase 2A(2) as parent alumni. Subsequently, we withdraw this place to try for Temasek in Phase 2C. If unfortunately we are successful for Temasek, can we still apply for St Stephen again under Phase 2C Supplementary? -

because
once quit St Stephen (under Phase 2A2), means u have already given up your place to someone else instead, who is interested to take your place, under 2B or 2C.
so, if unfortunately failed in balloting at Temasek (2C), cannot come back anymore to St Stephen, because St Stephen also full house by then, at the end of 2C. You can only go forward into the last 2C Supplementary, & apply for schools that have residual vacancies, even if is schools that u may not be keen in, no choice.
Hence, think wisely, before give up your 2A2 St Stephen seat. -

For the last 4 years, there are some places carried over for Phase 2Cs. You may / may not get so lucky this year. If there are no seats left for 2CS, you are basically being boxed out and you will have to look for another school. Even if there are places left in 2CS, you have to consider the distance priority. Unless you are within 1km, there’s no guarantee that you will get a chance to ballot, if it comes to that.

Hi All,
Need help for advise.
Background , staying in AMK, a GRL.
Based on phase 2B, Rosyth (3.5km) away from house, chances not worth trying using phase 2B correct? CHIJ St Nic not under AMK GRC, can only try 2C (1.2 km from house)
Else as GRL phase 2B I don’t have much better choice , can advise which school to try under phase 2B?
Backup if phase 2B failed, CHIJ our lady of good counsel or Marymount convent. Which one easier to get in? Both less than 2 Km from house.
Not sure which school to try for phase 2B and also 2C (if 2B failed) -

Rosyth is probably the most popular school in AMK - that is, the GRC, not the new town. In some years, Phase 2B gets a pass and everyone gets in. Who knows... this year could be that year. You can monitor the stats over the registration period to have a sensing of your chances.

Do note that Rosyth is also one of the few popular schools that still accepts PV. Hence, you could potentially have lots of 'competitors' for that Phase 2B place. IMHO, your chance, at best, is a balloting slot for the few leftover places for SC > 2km. If you don't really have any other alternatives, you may just as well give it a shot.
The other popular schools in AMK GRC are Anderson and Teck Ghee, though none is as popular as Rosyth (in the GRC) or CHIJ SNGS (in the town). You can consider them if you want to secure a school before Phase 2C begins and stands no chance at Rosyth. Otherwise, both CHIJ OLGC and MCS are very, very likely to be a sure-shot for SC in Phase 2C. -

There is no chance for St Nick's at 1.2km as they ballot <1km for 2B and 2C. In order not to waste your 2B chance, look at schools that is a sure in.

OLGC and MC chance isn 2C are about the same. Among the considerations will be accessibility and proximity. -
