Super unpopular post
: I took a rough look at the vacancies available and looking at the 2019 applicants, about 11 schools seem to be balloting for 2B within 1km, ACSJ, St Hilda, St Nicks, CHS, Tao Nan, ACSP, ATS, NYP, Rosyth, Pei Chun & Nan Hua. -
Why would it be unpopular, you are actually doing a service by giving people a heads up about reality, digesting the data out there.
People want to curse, won’t curse you lah. Curse the system maybe. -

As applications have moved online this year, will parents still apply to these schools or move over to the other schools to secure places? Yet to be seen. -

With or without more babies, without prior association, it will get increasingly difficult to get into these schools. Application being shift online may have exacerbated the situation, but it's a situation that was always in the making.
People are getting more aware of how the game is being played and until MOE can convince people otherwise (\"every school, a good school\"
), the situation won't get any better.

Hi all, I am enrolling my son for phase 2 C. We are within 1km to St Andrew’s junior and 1- 2km to Hong Wen. Knowing that St Andrew’s has affiliated secondary school and we Have better chances but we have some concerns about boy school. I am wondering if it is worth taking the risk to go for Hong Wen 2 C then try Cedar Primary as 2 C supplementary as backup. Thank you for your opinion.

Hong Wen 1-2km zero chance. Go SAJS , it’s a good school. Many parents will want to be in your <1km SAJS, don’t waste it.

Yet to be seen.[/quote]parents applying to these schools are rolling the dice in a high stakes game. I think is ok to roll if you have the chance to apply in 2B, but 2C is too risky.
either get your school of choice, or settle for a distant second choice in 2CS (there is a reason these schools have vacancies in 2CS)
the other option is to choose a middle ground option if you have one in 2C, not as appealing as that popular school, but not as bad as that 2CS choice
as Clint Eastwood would say in dirty harry; \"you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?\" :salute: -

You probably won't make it to the starting line for Hong Wen. Highly likely to ballot within 1km, and if not, limited places for 1-2km.
