Finally, Oral is over. Fortunately, DD is day 1 for EL and day 2 for CL. The reverse will be too challenging for her as her spoken mandarin is not strong. Graduation and concert is unexpected too.

Anyway, let the kids focus on the remaining components. Jiayou! 🙂

The tough part was due to the fact that the picture has no others word to help kids to answers but my boy said the tcr prompts helped him to elaborate .

Anyway , there is no right or wrong answers In oral . The child Has to elaborate to supports his points .

I consoled my boy that he did well and good thing oral is over and embrace the written exam.

My child informed me that the examiner asked 5 prompts. Is this a cause for concern? Her prelim examiner only asked her 2. I know it’s over but I’m pretty worried and she doesn’t even want to discuss about it at all.

My boy said prompts are to help the kid to elaborate more bc they could be speaking too short, too little or too general ie not enough personal experience. So being prompted is not a bad thing actually bc examiner is trying to help.

yep agree, the teacher is \"helping\" the kid to talk & elaborate more or generate more ideas if examiner feels not suffiicient yet
Shoot n hit target is 3 qns. now seem Avg is 4 qns .

I think prompts are ok, as long as the child has things to say after that. So in a way, if the teacher prompts, I feel it's good! It helps ensure child can cover more, and sometimes to bring child back into topic. But if teacher prompts and child doesnt say anything, or just 1 sentence and there are awkward pauses, then not so good.

But anyway, just glad oral is finally over, can fully focus on written paper now. Jia you everyone! :grphug:

My DS did CL oral today, some questions are diff from what is in the pic. And we think the examiners he met like to ask lots of non-usual questions bc his other CL speaking friends who are very good in oral were being asked 5-6 questions as well. So we are glad Oral Is over and moving to prelim next week..

Is there any phrase in the picture that indicate its a Graduation event?

I haven’t seen a skit for donket yrs , quite difficult for me too

today CL oral on road safety is manageable, but in the video , the girl who advised the boy in earlier part of video on safety also tried to break traffic rules ! the p6 were expected to share abt their thoughts and comments on this
girl behavior , a bit "tricky" in a way

Do past year papers? Go through past mistakes ?

Need to do timed practice papers to prepare. Time management is an important factor.
