Now, her main concern is her HMT, sort of dragged her GPA down.. 😞. No way to escape, now investing more time and effort in her HMT..

Ah, she is strong in her humanities! The Lit Teachers my dd encountered in RGS have been awesome. If your girl enjoys lit, she will do well in it.
Hi, no, she is into humanities, so she wants to take EL, HMT, 2 MA, 2SC chem + bio), geo, lit, I&A and RSP.. would prefer her to do only geo, but she insists to do 2 humanities.. sigh
Yeah, HMT is the Achilles’ heel for a lot of the girls. But I heard usually 60+% of the girls get distinction for their HCL O level exam, so I guess with hard work from the girls and the Teachers, they will be fine in the end.

I think it's not too difficult to guess the median GPA based on subjects median...
The median is given only by subjects. I think it'll be helpful to know the median for the GPA too....
Agree with @slmkhoo's take on median. Good enough or not depends on your personal targets and aspirations. Median should be good enough if one is not targeting medicine or law or scholarships...
@lakesidemum, it is common for HMT to drag down overall GPA, with very few exceptional girls who is also very strong in their HMT, so don't worry too much. DD1's HMT is typically a few points below median, yet she managed to score distinctions in O level. -
Just curious, anyone has any idea what RI’s median for most subjects are? I heard they aren’t as high… wonder if RGS set the paper too ‘‘easy’’ for the girls hence the high median?

for IP4 students in both (RI and RGS) -
do IP4 students take the same, common identical exam,
- at IP4 mid year exam and
- at IP4 year end Promotional exam
In below following 6 subjects :-
- English
- Maths
- Pure Physics
- Pure Chem
- Pure Bio
- Higher Chinese,
so as to \"standardize \" marking of their IP4 students' exan scripts on a common ground basis , to choose their IP5 (RI) subject combination ? -
Hi, suggest to log in inet and check results again. The GPA got updated, at least for my kiddo.

It’ll continue to be updated, as more results are added to the system.

Heard the boys are doing well as well. One boy had 85 average across his subjects. Maybe the RI parents can give some feedback haha

In my daughter's time (6 yrs ago), the Y4 students from both schools took a common English, Maths and Chem paper, midway through Y4, I think, because the boys didn't have normal lessons for the 2nd semester. Not sure if that's the case now. That was feedback for the teachers in both schools, and also for the JC teachers to know what to expect. I don't recall that there was any public info comparing the 2 schools. Anecdotally, the boys were supposed to be generally stronger in Maths and the girls in English. Which is not surprising - I think most people would predict that anyway!
