I have tried Science Buddies holiday program...my gal loves it because it's fun, and they do learn some science stuff. More for general knowledge since it's a holiday program. Someone recommended a science class in Bishan called Science Whiz. Has anyone tried this before? WHat about Math classes? Understand that learning lab also has math and science classes, other than English. Does anyone has feedback on their Math program? My gal has just been offered a place for the Math class and I'm wondering if it's good and should sign her up....pls help!!!

Hi, I know this is prob an old thread.. am looking for infor re: the Science whiz mentioned ... any feedback ? Also, I heard abt Perceptum... if anyone knows / has a personal experience on these classes, appreciate ur feedback... many thanks in advance.

Hi thanks..what kind of maths they teaches in perceptum? Do they teach the kids how to tackle olympiad/ tough/ tricky questions? And for science, do they do a lot of outside text book teaching? Experiment?

Thanks so much in advance in sharing.

Pls check their website at http://www.perceptum.com.sg

My girl is currently at P6 and we only enrolled her at the beginning of the year. For maths, she never had any tuition before but we decided to put her with Mr Lee to tackle the more complex problems. If Mr Lee finds that your kid is not suitable for class environment, he will try to introduce tutor for 1-to-1.

With regard to Science, I'm very pleased with Mrs Sim's teaching and the notes given cos my girl has a 'lousy' Science teacher who happens to be the HOD but he just can't click with the kids. By the way, my girl's science teacher is pretty 'well-known'....even Mrs Sim knows him as they were once colleagues.

Both Mr Lee and Mrs Sim were ex-school teachers.

My girl enjoys their lessons very much. Homework is given after every lesson and they expect the kids to finish the homework. If not done, the kids got to stay back and finish up the work.

                    Hope the above helps.

Have a friend whose son is attending Perceptum at Bt Timah and she gave good feedback.

Anyone has comments for the Bishan branch?

Thought of adding my feedback on extraedge in case someone chance upon this thread.

Fun as they do experiments in school. Heard their teacher is PSLE marker so I supposed he will be able to guide them on how to answer the questions.

Some of the experiments they did include the mouldy bread. Common exam questions. They were given worms to bring home to observe the developmt :!: I wasn't too pleased/ keen with that.

Results... my P3 moved from 60+ in CA1 to 80 in CA2. So I suppose it does help in some information retention.
