And PRs we are ! So going by the results in the previous rounds, am unsure whether to try a better school first in 2C, or to just secure a seat in a safer school. Have just heard floating opinions about St Gab, but havent had any real review or feedback from existing student.[/quote]
That's the issue more for PRs and staying more than 2km. As SJIJ has more flow over this year, not sure the application rate for St gab.Lexy\" post_id=\"2032735\" time=\"1627912952\" user_id=\"12180:

Donโt understand what you meant by ranking.
For SC, should be a shoo-in.
Have you not consider other schools in Geylang? There are 2 that may not need balloting. -

Most discussions have moved to Telegram chat.. is very active there.. Perhaps KSP should consider opening Telegram groups where they can regularly push out new articles and people can discuss. I'm sure many people will be interested to join.
Last year 70 schools needed to ballot for those within 1km.
This year:
A few schools have more vacancies, namely Canberra, will be a better year for those staying within 1km.
A few schools may join in the foray for <1km, like Punggol Primary, St Andrew Junior (borderline between 1-2km and <1km) and Valour.
Not posting stats specifically as seem little interest for that (based on forum postings or enquiry). Either parents are well informed of what is coming or are well prepared for battle. -

Where discussion is concerned, Telegram chat is... hopeless.

Imagine if you have 2,000 participants. Each one just have to say a word and you will have 2,000 messages. Blink and you will miss it. It's not really an avenue for any sort of discussion.
One of my Telegram chat has over 2k participants and >200 online at anyone time. The mod's job is to STOP people from discussing / chatting else it will flood the channel
However, if the size of the group is small, itโs still viable for an avenue for discussion. -
I would think the drop in attendance on the forum thread is due to the inability to game the system like before because during times like these as covid, MOE rules, online registrations have changed behaviours and information that underpinned the past

It is also hard to follow here if people don't follow though the thread. Don't think many need to register to see the posting here, so maybe lurking.
Anyway here is 2C D1 summary:
Given that the take up rate until 2B this year was comparable to last year's, 2C total applicants number should be comparable as well. Total applicants for D1 for 2C was 43% higher than last year, more people making a move early this year. Nevertheless, still have about 6k applicants yet to make the move. About 57 schools are already oversubscribed - and over 1500 will be balloted out (so far) and 2k plus will join them. -

There will be people who like the forum format but I have younger friends (parents with SG50 kids also) who tell me they don't know how to navigate at all, is like.. not the technology of their era
this forum is not easier to find things either. I spent weeks reading through the pinned threads from first page till last, I don't know how many will do that
But I really thank you all you seniors here to share your insight and data. Learned so much from all of you. -

A lot of the difficulty has to do with housekeeping and maintenance, which let's be honest, haven't been tip top. As a result, you have to search, scroll and read from start to end.
I'm also on other forum / boards that are using threaded discussion. Those are even harder to navigate and search for info for newbies. -

Iโve been wondering - for those schools like Northlands and Southview. Since its so over-subscribed (guessing that they are mainly <1km confirm need to ballot); where would be the next natural selection be; would be somewhere still close enough right. Since distance was a key factor ?

To them, the rest of the school choices are either confirmed safe or no difference to them.
