Hi parents,
I have queries on the notes used by the students for exam preparation. My son is in Sec2 and did not do well for certain subjects e.g. Science, Geography
1) Do they use the notes prepared by themselves or borrow from their friends? My son told me some of his friends borrowed from others.
2) I understand from my son that the textbook does not cover certain topics taught. How do the students get more comprehensive notes from these topics? I noted that some are selling notes on Carousell. Any ideas if any of you have bought and these notes help or not?
3) Thought of getting him a tutor too. Any recommendation for a private one or small group tutor?
Thank you! -
In Upper Sec, does the number of non-examinable classes decline? Or, is the 2nd Math, 2nd Science, and 2nd Humanities all on top of what they are doing in Sec 1-2? Understand that in general the days/hours are longer in Upper Sec but wondering if any other time is freed up during the school day.

Yes, from what I rmb, no longer have to take Art/Music and Infocomm lessons in Upper Sec.

Math will be counted as 2 academic units (i.e. count twice when computing MSG) and only needed to take one test for both E and A Math, but I recall my Sec 4 EOY was an exception where we had separate E Math and A Math papers. -

Hi parents,
For JC1 subj combi, can H2 Arts replace Economics as contrasting subject? Can 3H21H1 subjects to be : H2 Math, H2 Physics/Chemistry, H2 Arts, H1 GP? -
Hi,
May I know any commitment for student enter HCI via DSA-Science?
Will he be placed in which consortium?
Thanks a lot. -
Wonder if anyone who can recommend a good Chinese tutor or small group tuition for my boy who is currently sec 2 in HCI?

HCI seems to be doing well in maths and science competitions for the past 2 years, on par with RI and better than NUS high?

HCI is a comprehensive school, so there are many opportunities for the boys to participate and excel in STEM, STEAM and Humanities related conferences and competitions both in Singapore and overseas.
