very good analysis, but you forgot NUSH (Maybe 180 students), and ACSI, which are also very popular, and the COP for ACSI is 7 last year.
MGS will not have the IP cohort size of 350. I think it may only be a few classes.

        thanks for sharing.

Based on the same conversion rate of 2020, how about 92+84+90+83? what would the t-score be?
No point knowing this, because u will never know what is your child’s exact raw score which will be translated to AL. With some luck, your child might just move into the better AL. The luck element on the reverse is true as well. Same thing for other students competing with u. The total t score is not a simple calcuIation of a certain factor x total raw score of all subjects. It is a known fact that every subject has its own subject t score. I do hope u will not be misguided especially if this can affect your decision that needs to be made by 3pm.

Based on historical T-score COP and 2020 indicative AL COP, the only school with a risk of AL 5 COP is RGS because COP for 2019 and 2020 was 261 and 260 respectively (both without HCL), while we know the lowest possible t-score for AL5 is around 261.

AL grade is determined using raw scores, so there is really no way for MOE to interfere with PSLE results or to block the possibility of AL5 balloting.

For RGS all it takes is to have 1 AL5 too much to force the entire pool of AL5 applicants to go through balloting.

          e.g. RGS : 400 places,

          DSA : 120 places

          Balance : 280 places

          AL4 : 130 applicants
          AL5 : 151 applicants

From the above, all 151 applicants with AL5 will have to go through balloting.

And that to me is the scary part because just 1 applicant, the entire country will raise the gold standard of PSLE from AL5 to AL4.
You worried too much. Since MOE released a guideline last year, I believe they most probably will not change this year. AL4 and 5 can go any school they want.

It makes you wonder how come you must submit by 3pm, doesn’t it? In this day and age, I’m sure they would have not problems keeping the doors opened until 12am. Oh well… we live in regimented Singapore…

Exactly. No chance to be creative!

                        Hi Everyone

I was reading thru all the posting for the past few days and I am just curious and wish to clarify on consideration for Secondary school.

My boy gotten - AL5 (total) for his PSLE.

Of course we are overjoyed as we believe he can go for any school he wanted, we are at his side, providing advise to his school selection but we are clear that he will be the one to make the final choice.

He final 1st choice is: SJI (IP) - aiming to do IB

As he's from a Lasallian Primary school hence a lot of his current classmate is also heading to the same institute. As we were looking thru all the comments there's little mention of SJI. IS there any reason? or just its a good school but not the top choices?
There will be 4 pointers and 5 pointers heading to SJI. It’s a good school and among the top choices for people outside of KSP.

It’s just not part of KSP flavor of the month.
