Confirmed that MGS IP cut off is 7 (slipped from 6 in MOE provisional COP)
MGS O level (non-affiliated) cut off is 8
this was what I have expected may happen because its natural for AL6 students to try for RGS since both are 2020 AL6 COP. Also msg al6 tscore COP is at the lower end of Al6

            AL 8M

            1st choice - SCGS IP
2nd choice - Cedar Girls IP
            3rd choice - St Nicholas O level

Results - St Nicholas O level
Question to MOE - How can you determine whether a student qualifies for O level or IP track based on balloting? Does it make sense to the student?
Understandable for u to be upset becos u didnt get wat u want.
But if IP track is the most important factor, u could have put in DHS, TJC, RV in the 3rd-5th choices.
MOE cannot satisfy everyone for sure.

No one determines whether a students qualifies for O level or IP. The students express interest by placing the desired stream and school in his/her 6 choices.

OMG! That's unbelievable!! How is your son feeling about missing out on his first 2 choices?

Just shows how competitive the new PSLE system is. Already hearing so many stories on many Singaporeans kids missing out on their choices because of balloting. It's crazy to think for a 12 year old (and their parents) that their future path is determined by a ballot.
Well.. DS took it quite well. He said that a lot of his friends (whatsapp group) also posted to RVHS, even his best buddy.

But back to the system. MOE shifted from T-score to AL-system with the emphasis not to chase the last 1 score. This AL posting exercise (AL6 balloted out of RGS or RI) kind of telling us that, to be safe, kids now have to chase 5-points.. 😓
