Which phase is my child in?

Here are some examples of possible scenarios:

■Mr Goh wants to enrol his son in the same school that he was from. If he is not an alumni member, he will be in Phase 2A2. If he is an alumni member and joined not later than 30 Jun of the preceding year, he will be in Phase 2A1.
■Mrs Bala wants to enroll her daughter in the same school as her older son. She will be under Phase 1.
■Mrs Ng's son does not qualify under any of the earlier phases but still wants to register her son in the primary school that is less than 1km from her house. She will be under Phase 2C and 2C Supplementary.
■Mdm Rohana has been volunteering in the primary school that she wants to enroll her daughter in and worked more than 40 hours as a librarian in the school. She will be under Phase 2B.

Thank you sc88, I have found the answer to my questions. Basically, if the elder sibling did not complete the Primary with the school then the younger sibling cannot register under earlier phase.


Saw Bukit Panjang increased its vacancy by 30! How do they do it? I thought they also have partial session. :?

If the older sibling did not complete Primary education in the school of choice, younger one can only get in under Phase 2A2. Phase 1 is for younger siblings who have elder siblings STILL studying in the school.

Phase 2A2 only for elder siblings which has completed the P6 with the school. Anyone else want to verify?

The answer is yes, vacancies listed for Phase 1 = total vacancies for the new P1 intake.

So, yes, using your above example and assuming 100 seats are taken for Phase 1, 2A1 and 2A2, means there are 200 seats left for Phase 2B and 2C, each getting 100 seats equally.

They will update the vacancies status at the end of each phase, usually by about 7.30pm on the night of the last day of that Phase. Speaking from past experience. Hope that helps.
